Letters to the Editor.
Letters to the Editor. Letters on any subject of public interest are cordially invited. The insertion of a letter does not necessarily mean that the Editor agrees with the views ex- pressed therein. Correspondents should write on one side of the paper only, and no letter will be published unless the writer sends his name and address, not necessarily for publication, but as a guarantee of good faith. A Parent's Appeal. To the Editor of the Rhondda Leader." Dear Sir,—May I be allowed to draw the attention of the Powers that be," through the medium of your valuable paper, to the state of a sewer at the, rear of Rhondda Terrace, Llwynypia? Although excavations were made here as far back as last March, the drain is still open, and the results of the filth festering in the heat of these last ten days can be better imagined than de- scribed, and not the least danger attach- ing to this plague spot is that the hole here, although being a considerable num- ber of feet in depth, is only partially covered with old and decayed timber, the place being otherwise quite unpro- tected and in close proximity to the only bit of playground left to the unfortunate children of this district. When I point out that a boy of some four or five summers had a narrow escape from suffocation here recently, you will see the need for something immediate being done. May not we, jfle residents of this, dis- trict, look with confidence to those gentlemen who promise so much at elec- tion time to have this state of things remedied at once? Yours, &c.-A FATHER.
