LEWIS MERTHYR v. PONTYPRIDD NOMADS. The above match was played on Satur- day at the Llwyncelyn enclosure, before a fair number of spectators. The Nomads batted first, and as the result of some fine batting, hit up a total of 136. Bcth sides played twelve men, and Pontypridd's twelfth man (G. Phillips) was top scorer with 65 to his credit. They were, how- ever, obliged to suffer defeat by a superior team, as the scores demonstrate. F. Bennett and Benson were top scorer for Lewis Merthyr with 34 and 26 respec- tively. C. M. Roberts' bowling was the one feature of the game, dispatching in all six men. Bennett also shared in the bowling honours. Scores — i PONTYPRIDD NOMADS. Cricket Crackers.
Cricket Crackers. The most consistent cricketer it is our pleasure to witness playing is undoubtedly O. M. Roberts, of Lewis Merthyr. A good score is always anticipated when he takes possession of the willow. Roberts is unquestionably the" Jessop" of the Hills, as he always runs up his score with boundaries, and is the admiration of his team. He has also a peculiar break on his ball which, though by no means very fast, generally proves fatal to the batsman. Another good bat, but with a totally different style, is Gwilym Jones. Before the wicket he is as cool as the proverbial cucumber. Nothing worries him. His partner may go, and another take his place, but Gwilym has pitched his tent. Thus, while the bowler has become irritated, he is quietly—with beautiful cuts and drives—ornamenting the scoring board, and keeping; up his average.

East, West, Home's Beat. No other news is so interesting as home news, and how gladly we welcome it when it is good news. Such is the news we print again and again in our columns from Tonypandy men and women, who, having come by good fortune themselves, are eager to share it with their neighbours. Since using Doan's Backache Kidney Pills I have been quite a different woman, and have not had a sign of backache," says Mrs. F. EL J ones, 139, Dunraven Street, Tonypandy. Shar-D, cutting, pain in the back had been mv trouble, and I suffered for years. My joints were so stiff that I found it hard to get upright after bending. I used to feel tired and languid in the mornings. I commenced to take Doan's Backache Kidney Pills a short time ago, and I am glad to say they soon put me right. The pills made my back strong and well. When- ever I get an opportunity I shall recom- mend Doan's Pills. (Signed) F .E. Jones." No one can be healthy whose kidneys are not healthy. The kidneys filter the impurities and poisons from the blood, The health of the whole body depends on them. Diseased or weak kidneys are the cause of many of the most dangerous diseases, such as dropsy, Bright's disease, gravel, stone, urinary troubles, rheu- matism, lumbago, sciatica. These symp- toms are warnings of serious trouble to come if they are neglected, but are 1 relieved and cured by Dban's Backache Kidney Pills. M. Evans— last season's best average bat-is, not as yet proving; last season's form, but is always very reliable. He is also a, left-hand! bowler1 of uncommon speed, and a most useful member in the field. -+- A. R. Morgan, of Ferndale, is also a skilful bat. There are no blind hits with Morgan. When the ball leaves the bowler's hand, Morgan is ready, and meets it with terrific force, and the umpire shouts "Boundary," G. Gower is a, player of great, merit. A good bat and a fine bowler, he is a most useful member of the Ferndale i team. The bowling honours of the Ferndalians go to H. Proctor, who is an exceptionally fine bowler, with a break that most deadly. Proctor has ail excellent average in dispatching his opponents.
