Alleged Trespass at Ferndale. A WATER GRIEVANCE. On Thursday the Porth Police Court waQ filled to its utmost capacity, unusual int-erestt being oenred in the cases in which William Llewellyn, labourer; John Williams, brakegman Daniel Williams, labourer; John JaIDel9, la- bourer; William Davies, labourer: Samuel Saunders, collier; J oim Dean, Charles Davies, George Davies, Thomas Williams, James Jud- son, William Woodward, John Lewis, and Samuel Samuel, all of Ferndale, were charged with trespassing on the Taff Vale railway ail Ferndale on various dates in Jtuve last. Mr Sankey, barrister, Cardiff .appeared for. the Railway Company, while Alderman W. H. Morgan, solicitqr, Pontypridd, appealed foB the defence. Mr Sankey having opened the case, Alderman Morgan said that without taking any of the time of the Court, he thought that they should endeavour to settle. These men had crossed the line in order to get water from af stream which flowed the other side of the rail* way. The Bench thought there was nothing to pro- vent them from doing so, and they would there.. fore sanction an adjournment for a month if agreeable to both sides. After some consultation, Mr Sankey said thatt- they had agreed to an adjournment for a month* but that the men were not to go for water dur- ing that month. ————-——————— i
