UNPARALLELEDSUCCF;SS.—The Superiority OFWRAV'S BALSAMIC PILLS over Copaiba, Cubebs, and every other medicine, in the cure of gonor- rnosa, gleets, strictures, seminal weakness, whiles, pains in the loins, affections of the kidnevs, gravel, lumbago, local debility, irritation of the bladder, or urethra, and other diseases of the urinary passages, becomes every day more apparent, from their extraordinary demand and universal success in all the above complaints; as since their first introduction to the public, thousands of cases have been cured. Within three years prior to which they had been employed in private practice in upwards of 1 800 cases, (many of them most inveterate), and in no one instance known in fail, or to produce those till- pleasant symptoms so often experienced while taking mercury, copaiba, cubelK, turpentine, and that class of medicines usually resort# 1 to in these complaints, Pos. sessing tonic prope'ties, tti^,agree with the most tielicate stomach, strengthen the digestive organs, increase the appetite, and improve the general health. They require neither confinement nor alteration of diet (except ab., stinence from stimulants, where considerable inflamma- tion exists), ind, as experience has amply proved, they will effect a cure sooner than copaiba (the dangerous reo sults of which, in the inflammatory stages, are too well known to need any comment), or any other medicine in present use, and may justly be considered the only safe and efficacious remedy in all stages of those disorders. For a period of 30 years I have suffered more than I can well express but at all times have avoided taking advertised remedies, having a powerful antipathy to them, until a few months since, after having been laid up for 22 weeks of »» "^eumatic Gout, prinei- acctinfulalerf force to the extremities, and to sucTi a that I was delirious for five days and nights. I now say that, fortunately I was induced to try BI,AIIZ'S GOUI AND RHEUMATIC PILLS; and, with truth, I assure yourself and the public tha!. in less than 2L hours, 1 was free from pain: and by the time 1 had taken half a box the inflammation and swelling had disappeared. I have ihe pleasure of adding that my general health has in no way suffered, and that the effects of Blair's Pills were imperceptible. I am, Sir, votir obedient servant, THE CHEVALIER DE LA liAUDE. The testimonials of the astonishing effects of this Medicine are universally accompanied by t ie act, that no inconvenience of any sort attends its adminl:,trat!0,i, bu- that the patient, without feeling the operation of the medicine, is universally left in a stronger anc bettor state of health than experienced previous to being afHcted with this disevse; and in all 0 acute suffering, great relief is obtained i" jW ^our,» and a cure is generally effected in two or three a)" This valuable discovery i» sold by homas rout, 229, Strand, London and, by bis appointment, <y Mr D. ADDRESSED TO THE PUBLIC. Economy and Health require that every individual should employ those remedies which produce their effects ,p :!edily, and with the least loss of that which is to all as money—namely, "Time." Now this can only be ob- tained by the use of such medicines as are best "adapted to the human frame, and which shall be so united as to produce more than one effect at the same moment, for as, upon the accession of disease the whole system is more or less deranged, so the treatment indicated is that which shall relieve the whole of the symptoms, and this can be easily accomplished by the employment of Vegetable medicines in proper combination, so that while the Stom- ach, Liver, and Bowels, are equally and mildly acted upon, the strength may be supported, and the other im- portant functions, as the perspiration, &c. may be brought to assist in throwing off the disease. If medical men acted upon this principle, their patients would recover much quicker than they do flow,-biit then their charges must be necessarily It.ss ;-so their interest is opposed to their adoption of so rapid a method of cure. If you wish to save Long Bills and Loss of Time, try Dr. Stone's Tasteless Compound Herbal Solution, at the commence- ment of any attack, which will itis, antly check and speedily remove the complaint. The small space allotted to an advertisement precludes the possibility of expl.iinins> all the advantages of this truly incomparable remedy] which is adapted to all ages, and both sexes is perfectly safe, and can be taken under all circumstances. TESTIMONIAL. We readily testify to the valuable properties of -4 Dr. Stone's Tasteless Compound Herbal Solution," which we feel qualified to do, having used it ourselves for various complaints, and also witnessed its powers in numerous forms of diseases its effects are most astonishing. I Hecei.tly arrived from the Continent, thesingularljgifted, highly talented, and celebrated BARON SPOLASCO, M.D., A.B., M.R.C.S., K.O.M.T., and C.L.D.H., most successful Practitioner of Medicine 1_ and Surgery in the known World !!—who is on a tour through the principal cities of Etil-ope-having been called professionally to Wales, has arrived amid the joyous shouts and acclamations of the people! and may w consulted, ljy both sexes, at his residence ADELAIDE J J.ACH, SWANSEA, between the hours of nine in the morning and four in the afternoon, and in the eveninl, from six till nine. relative to all cases, both Medical and Surgical, that lfesh is lieir to. The Baron is a Licentiate Physician, and Membfr of the Pioval College of Surgeons. He was a Perpetual u' 1 T°- l'16 Celebrated Baron Depuytren, of the Hotel Dieu. Paris, and studied the various branches of h i Profession at the Universitiesof Paris, Berlin, Leyden, London Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dublin. In consequence of the numerous Patients that daily cro'd reund Baron Spolasco's Consulting Rooms, he has been induced to prolong his stay in Swansea beyond the period which be originally designed. Those whoreqttire his advice would do well, therefore, to make immediate application, as they may not again have au opportunity atto ded tnem of consulting so successful a Practitioner. The multiplicity of practice in which the Baron is neces- sarily engaged by the increasing number of his patients, renders it utterly impossible for him to leave Swansea at the time proposed, (i e. after Christmas), but that it is extremely probable, indeed certain, he must prolong his stay in Swansea over the present winter. The destitute pcor will receive advice gratuitously. Numerous very bad cases are under treatment; and seven are subjoined which have been successfully treated by the Baron within the last six weeks; and reference to his Pamphlets is respectfully requested for further proofs of his successful Practice. "CATHERINE SMITH, of the Rutland Arms, Swan, sea. suffered for a very long period, from a virulently ulcerated leg, which impaired her health and almost made her a cripple, perfectly cured by the good Baron' in two dressings, and her health finnly re-established, which she had not enjoyed for years before, after having consulted several medical gentlemen in Swansea without effect." WII.LIAM JONF.S, block!ayer, under the Middle Bank Company, 61 years of age, was a sufferer for two years with a severely ulcerated leg, cured by Baron Spolasco in a fortnight, and his health made perfect, which had not been good for years before, after having been under treatment of seven doctors in Swansea, and two in the neighbourhood, and an out-door patient of the Swansea Infirmary for nine weeks without any of them benefitting him." "JOHN CLEMENT, ferryman of Swansea Ferry, was ''lree years sinking to the grave as it wrre with his thighs covered over with virulently deep seated ulcers, and his flesh dropping from his boues and his health gone was not only pefectly cured by the Baron Spolasco of his ulcers and sores in a fortnight, but his health was re-established, after having been under two or three Doctors' treatment without effect." The above three cases have been advertised at length in a recentnumber of this paper. T, J A I ES Ros E, empioyed on the Middie Bank Copper Works, Swansca, do cerlify that I have suffered for a very long time under a delicate state of health, and a severely ulcerated leg, which made me a cripple, and that I con- stilted two Doctors in this town without the slightest effect. Fortunately for me at this period I heard of the arrival in Swansea, and of the fame of the great Doctor Spolasco, who it was said cured every body I at once repaired to his residence, which I found crowded, and I heard every bodv tlmje 1.1- (M: .I¡., inspired me with a confident hope of receiving similar benefit from his treatment, which hope was realized; for incredible as it may appear, in the short space of a fort- night my leg was not only made sound, but my health was perfectly re-established. I would advise every body in disease to travel day and night to go to the great Baron Spolasco. May God ever bless him, I and ail my rela- tions will ever prav. •' Swansea, Nov. 7, 1S38." "JAMES R o S E. I JOHN MURPliy, of Greenhill, Swansea, last in the employ of Starling Benson. Esq., of this place, do certify, that I have now for nineteen months been a suffering pitiable creature, with my legs ulcerated almost to mortification, and my health broken up; during the whole period of nineteen months not able to labour for my family more than a fortnight, and that in the greatest pain and aijony, sinking fast into the grave, from which I was arrested. Oh! my everlasting thanks to God Aim ghty for saving the invaluable life of the good Doctor Spolasco on the rock this year when wrecked in the steamer Killarney, and directing his foots'eps to Swansea, so providrnually for me and thousands of other sufferers in disease of every malady, to whom, through the blessing of Christ and the love of God, he has proved himsrlt a treasure never equalled either in surgery or medicine in this world, at least since the death of our blessed Saviour. I have only to add, that my frightful ulcers and sores were dressed but four liruel, and those by the good Baron'sown hands, and about eight doses of his astound- ing medicine administered to IDe, when I found myself not only freed from my ulcers and sores, but perfectly sound and my health restored, which 1 could not boast of tor five years before. May my prayers and those of my family, and those of the thousands of poor sufferers he benefits, alight upon his head, and the heads of all his kindred for ever, we must and will ever prav. I was sixteen months under the care of four medical men, two in Swansea and two in the neighbourhood, without having received the slightest benefit, but gradually sink, ing under their treatment. MARY HENDRICK, wife of John, mariner, of Pentreguinea, Swansea, consider it a duty to the pub- lic as well as to tlie highly gifted Surgical Practitioner, the Baron Spolasco, to state publicly, a"d thus offer up my most fervent prayers and thanks to Go i, for directing the good Baron Spolasco to this town, or I most forever have remained a poor suffering cripple, without obtaining the least relief from any I applied t,) having for the last ten years had to crawl about in the best way 1 was able, obliged to attend to my family and all my domestic affairs myself, till heart sickened at my hard fate, I ap- plied to the above-named talented gentleman, and in less than a month, wonderful to say, he effected for me a complete cure. The bone around my ancle was for the last ten years laid completely bare, which substance is now made up, and my limb as sound as ever, and my health better, praise be to the Lord, than it has been for the last twerity years. My family united deem it a duty they owe to thank the Baron Spolasco thus publicly for his eminent services, for who eternal happiness they and 1 will ever pray. "MARY HENDRICK." Swansea, Nov. 30, 1833." Another great Cure effected since the above were first inserted in this Paper. *T, DlNA WILLIAMS, 57 years of age, of the Falcon public house, Garden Street. Swansea, was a very great suff erer for twelve years with both legs ulcerated, so much so. that I could scarcely bear my own weight; and that I was under treatment nearly the whole of that time. withOI)t experiencing the slightest advantage or relief, till the good Baron (may the just 00d ever bless. prosper, and protect him) Spolasco, who, in but four dressings, which were performed in eight days, not only perfectly cllred ail m" ulcers, but established my health again, which I was not able to boast of fur years before. His medicines and dressings acted like a charm over my whole body For Baron Spolasco s protection, I, my husband, and family, as in duty bound, will ever prav. "T DINA WILLIAMS." '• Swansea, December 6, 1833." N.B. The Baron pledges himself that lie will publish every week ir. the Guardian, at least one great and ex- traordinary Cure during his sojourn at Swansea. The wonderful cures peiformcd by the Baron aud already published, allow to be properly understood, are not of an ordinary kind or cast, or are those numerous cases now under treatment, whicn are rapidly progress- ing, not onlv to the astonishment and delight of the po )r patients themselves (who long ago had no hope left them for amendment in this world), but also to the amazement of the town and surrounding country. The Baron perforins hundred of cures, scores of which must for ever remam a secret, from delicate and prudential motives, which he would not deign to publish, reserving for the public eye only such of those bad cases which have previously been a long, "a very long and dreary while," at least to the poor sufferers, in some instances more than twenty years, in the hands of others of the faculty, without effecting for the patient the slightest improvement. After these facts, does the reader icquirc further comment? The Baron with permission be"s to state, that he never publishes any cure, without the wish. or free consent to do so of the person on whom, through the great blessiiig of God. the cure was effected. r The Baron is immediately in want of Two, or Three Articled Pupils, for the term of either three, or five years; they will be Boarded and Lodged, and have the advantage of witnessing a new (peculiar to Spolasco's system or school only) yet more extended, and per- baps more successful practice in the two branches stir. gery and medicine, than can be enjoyed at any Other establishment known. All letters must have the postasie paid, and may be addressed to The Baron Spolasc0 Swansea, which will meet with immediate attention, those young gentlemen who have not before been under any Medical or Surgical tuition will be preferred. None need apply but those of guod family, education, and address. Premium* for each, Five Hundred Guineas. During the last few weeks the Baron Spolasco has re- ceived several letters in answer to his advertisement for Articled Pupils, from Parents who are wishful to place their sons under him, and making various offers for that purpose of from two hundred and fifty to three hundred and fifty guineas. In answer, the Baron most respectfully declines making any abatement of the sum asked and legs to add. that if any of his Pupils, when out of their indenture, and daring the first entire year they are in practice for themselves, do not, -as the of Pupil of Spolasco, in any town of twentv thousand inhabi- tantll. realize a sum equal to the one in question, the Baron will place cash in the Bank in order to refund or make up all that may be deficient of it. tn conequence of recently expressed, petty, mean, envious, and ungenerous speculative opinions, respecting the perfection of these cures, tending to malign the high professional reputation of the Baron Spolasco. be is in- duced io otrer, thus publicly, to bd or wager XIO,000 to XI,000, that he (the Baron) will, under divine favour, perform a sound and perfect cure of the most malignant ulcer or sore in extent, if even three parts of the sub- stance of the limb be eaten away by ulceration, and if the patient has been doomed to crutches in consequence, f >r the last half century or does it matterto the Baron, whether the sufferer has or has not tried in vain.the skill of every Professi nat Genileman throughout the United Kingdom or whether or not such patient has, to his or her great grief and suffering. passed through every Hospital, both at home and abroad, without having re- ceived the slightest improvement; still, Spolasco, with God's great blessing, cures; and the only two questions he will ask the patient are, is the limh already am- putated (which precipitately has too often been the case in instances too numerous and too melancholy to relate); if riot, at,d the sufferer still lives, the Baron will, with the Lord's continued favours, not only save the leg or arm from amputation, but perfect, and that for ever, a safe, sound, and effectual cure The Baron will also render the general health of the patient perfect, which, per- haps, had not been even tolerable for fifty years before such is the Baron's success and reliance 011 his treat- ment, and "invaluable medicines." During the Baron Spolasco's residence of three months in Swansea, he has perfected about 150 great cures, the greater part of which were considered hopeless cases, and in general abandoned by the faculty. The Baron has at last consented, fiom repeated solicitations to visit the following places, viz:—The George Inn, Abergavenny, the 2nd; the Bush Inn, Nantyglo, the 3rd, and 4th; the Tredegar Arms, Tre- degar, the 5th, and 6th; the Angel Inn, Merthyr, the 7th, 8th, and 9dl the 11th, calling at the Cardiff Arms, Hirwain, and at the Lamb and Flag; the 12th, calling at the Castle Inn, Neath, on his way to Swansea. A Second Edition of Dr. Spolasco's interesting Nar. rative of the disastrous Wreck of the stealler Killarney. has just been published, and may be had of all Book- sellers,— This Pamphlet contains a number of certificates of the Baron's miraculous cures.
