It is with feelings of great regret that we have to announce the total destruction of the matrnincent mansion of Lord Dinorben, near St. Asaph, in Fiiut- shtie. We learn that the fire was first seen issuing from the sleeping apartment ot Lady Dinorben, between 9 aud 10 o'clock on Monday night. The Pengwinn engine shortly alter arrived and played over the iron and stone room, where the plate was kept, and the whole contents of that closet were safely removed and conveyed to Sir John Williams's residence, at tiie end of tile park. By this timp. the Haines had ascended to the copper roof, but the state apartments and the lower rooms were yet safe, which enabled the spectators to remove the pictures, the books, and nearly ail the furniture Irom the state apartments, tiie dining, and also the servants' rooms below. Her ladyship's jewellery was entirely preserved. Nothing now remains of this vast editice but the massive marble pillars of the great hall. The copper from the root poured down in sheets of liquid tire. The house was commenced by the father of his lordship in the year 1780 and finished in 1783. Since that time the present owner has added to the pile several rooms and out offices, comprising upwards of 50 beds lor strangers. ihe gentry and peasantry were all completely knocked up by incessant exertions during the night. t> At a numerous atid highly respectable meeting of merchants antl others at the Mansion bouse on Friday, it was resolved 10 present some testimony to the pro- prietors of the Times in token of thanks for the exertions made and expenses incurred by them in exposing a nest of commercial swindlers, as detailed jn the trial" Bogle v Lawsou,
