MUTINY ON BOARD THE BELLE POULE. -The Journal de Cherbourg of the J1 th inst. states, that in consequence of riotous conduct onshore, the. crew of the Belle Poule (the Prince dc J(,inville' s frig ate) had been confined to their ship. They rushed out, how- ever, in a body, and Irtvin^ forced the dockyard gate dispersed throughout 'he country, where they were quickly arrested by the marine geiidaimeric aud brought back to their former quarters. A KARA Avis.-A short time since xe had an opportunity afforded us of witnessing a most remark- able instance of success in teaching birds to talk atid mitigr. The gentleman to whom we are indebted l'or iiiis high treat is MrGarside, surgeuu, of Sandy lane, Cheelham hill, by whose kind permission we are ellabled to lay the following interesting particu- lar-before our readers Amongst the large fami'y of feathered curiosilie- by which Mr Gaiside is sur- rounded, there are several highly accomplished bullfinches aud canaries which sing English and foreign aiis most exquisitely, particularly a canary, which executed a difficult waltz with great precision and accuracy. But these, interesting as they are. fall into the shade when compared with the subject of our tiolice-ia common starling, which has been taught not only to lay aside its natural notes and siiia various airs with great exactness, but to chatter away with a'l the volubility and much of the quaintuess of an old maid.
