NO food is required during the first 24 hours after their leaving the shell. The first meal Jhould consist of Spratt's Patent Chloken mixed with hot water and squeezed as dry as possible, and this may be given in small Quantities pretty frequently during the first few days a little boiled custard may be given desired. Then a little millet or canary may be added, care being taken to give the birds no more than than they will consume at each meal as, if any food is allowed to lie about not only will it become sour and injurious to the chicks, but it will also be fouled by their droppings, and unfit for consumption. After three or four days have passed Spratt's Patent Chloken Meal and Spratt's Crlssel "should become the staple diet of the chickens, the correct method of preparing these foods being *8^ follows Take a table spoonful of "Cri88el" to eight or ten of meal (having first made the bleal crumbly moist with water, and soaked the Criesel in hot water until it becomes 8 oft, squeezing the water ont of the "CriSSel" through a piece of canvas), and mix the whole tegether. tour Tradesman or Stores will supply you in Sealed Bags Sealed Bags! pIe. of Foods and Pamphlet on Chicken and Poultry Rearing post free of Spratt's Patellt, ltd. a Fenchurch St., London, E.C.
