RHUDDLAN NOTES.
RHUDDLAN NOTES. The release of Mr Frank Wallace "Spriggs, who was convicted of having assaulted Miss Hughes, has created much excitement, not only in Rhuddlan but in every part of the country, although it would be well to accept with reserve all that is ind matter by certain newspapers correspondents. Persona* ly I think that Home Secretary should make oublic his reasons for releasing on licence this you. ng man. It would be more satisfactory to all parties eon- cerned. I should not be surprised if the Standing Joint Police Committee take the matter up, and ask for an explanation. The hounds are to meet at Rhuddlan to-morrow (Saturday) at 11 o'clock, and as this is considered to be one of the best parts of the country for hunting I expect there will be a large field. A. DDu.

A SOLDIER'S JOURNEY TO BIRMINGHAMI…
A SOLDIER'S JOURNEY TO BIRMINGHAM AND BACK. A Shropshire soldier, who recently arrived homo from China, has had, according to the Naval and Military Record, rather a curious experience of railway travelling. The railway people sent him on to Nantwich, where he was shown into the train for Wellington, which was within a few miles of his home. But he fell asleep to be awakened at Shrewsbury. This mistake was also explained, and the railway people there again put him right; but the unfortunate soldier again dozed off, until once more he was aroused at Nantwich. Again he was set right, bul; he next found himself in New Street Station, at Birming- ham, again, in the early morning of Sunday. Remaining at Birmingham over Sunday, lie resumed his journey on Monday morning, and once more took the wrong train, and later that day alighted at Bradford, in Yorkshire. From there he was sent on to Stafford, and eventually reached Coalbrookdale on Tuesday morning, three days after leaving Plymouth.
