The Guardians of this Union invite applications for the appointment of Master and Matron of the Workhouse at Llanrwst. Applicants must be husband and wife, between the ages of 25 and 40 years, and be conversant with the Welsh language, and preference will be given to those without children dependent upon them. The salary of the Master will be c40 per annum and that of the Matron £ 20 per annum, with rations, furnished apartments, and washing, in the Workhouse. The appointment will be subject to the approval of the Local Government Board and to the provisions of The Poor Law Officers Superannuation Act, 1896," the annual value of the emoluments for the purposes of the Act being fixed at C25 per annum for each Officer. The Master must be fully competent to keep the Books and Accounts, and perform all the duties required by the Orders of the Local Government Board, and the Matron must also be able to efficiently discharge the duties required of her, and to super- intend all the domestic arrangements of the Work- house. The Master will be required to give security in the sum of _f ioo for the due and faithful performance of his duties, and the persons appoint- ed must be prepared to enter upon their duties on the 28th December instant. Applications must be made on forms to be obtained from the undersigned, and must be sent in by 12 o'clock at noon on Friday, the 13th Decem- ber instant, marked Master and Matron on the outside cover, and selected candidates will have notice to attend.
