LONDON CORN EXCHANGE. MONDAY, AUG. 28.—"VVe had a good supply of wheat to-day from Essex and Kent, the greatest proportion being new, and in very damp condition-, was very difficult to quit, whilst really fine samples of both new and old sold readily at an advance of 2s. to 4s. per quarter upon last Monday's prices. Bonded wheat, both in warehouse and afloat, was held at high rates, the transactions were consequently limited. The top price of Flour we quote at 54s per sack. Barley Is. to 2s., and new white boiling peas 4s. to 5s, per qr. dearer grey peas unaltered. Beans fully as dear. The oat trade was firm, and good fresh qualities sold readily 6d. to Is. per quarter dearer than on Monday last. Rape and linseed quite as dear. Linseed cakes in fair demand. The weather continues Unsettled, and very close and warm.

SMITHFIELD. MONDAY, AUG. 28.-The Government Inspector (Mr. Simonds) having, seized five hundred foreign sheep, owing to their beinff diseased, the supply of stock from abroad in to-day's market was comparatively small, yet the general demand was far from active. With home-fed sheep our market was scantily supplied, the time of year considered; but the show of beasts was tolerably good that of lambs, calves, and pigs, moderate. As the number of really prime beasts was comparatively small, the demand for that descrip- tion of stock was firm at prices quite equal to those paid on Mon- day last, viz., from 4s. to 4s. 2d. per 8 lbs. The middling and infe- rior breeds moved oil slowly at barely last week's quotations. The general quality of the sheep supply was by no means prime. PROVISION MARKET. LONDON, MONO AY, AUGUST 28.—Our market last week was dull, and not much business. done. The arrivals of Irish butter weie nuge, and the sales of all kinds few and unimportant. Prices is to 2s. perewt. lower. Foreign was also in sluggish demand, and the turn cheaper. For Irish singed bacon the inquiry was very limited; prices nominal. Bale and Tierce Middles—Irish not in request. American a slow sale, at no decline in value. Hams and lard as last reported. WOOL. MARKET. CITY, MOSOAT, AUG. 28.—The quantity of wool imported into London 11 c v 1 was 8,843 bales. The public sales of colonial and foreign wool connnenccd on Thursday to a fair attendance; but as the la; j ia mty of 32,000 bales will be offered, it is feared that a good deal will have to be withdrawn. It is yet too early to pronounce an j iu 1 on this head, as the sales will continue for sometime.

MONEY MARKET. WEDNESDAY EVENING. The public securities are still rather depressed, in expectation of the immediate announcement of a loan or a funding. Consols have been 851 to 86 for Transfer, and 85l to 86 for Account. Exche- quer-bills, for the same reason, have declined to 29s. and 26s. pre- mium. It is probable that when the loan affair is arranged, a rally will occur, provided the weather continues good. The New Three-and-Quarter per Cents, have been 86. Bank Stock is about 1964 to The Foreign Securities are rather firm, though dull. Spanish Three per Cents, have been 22f, Portuguese Pour per Cents, from 211 have risen to 22f, and Mexican are quiet at 16i. Dutch Two- and-a-Half per Cents, have touched 45.
