A Twopenny Cabbage Costs 4/6 or 7 days. On Wednesday morning, at Penarth Police Court, Hillburn. a labourer, was charged with stealing a cabbage, with four roots, valued twopence. Ex-in- spector Rees deposed that on the 11th inst. at 11.0p.m. at Court Road be saw the defendant with the cabbage in his possession, and upon charging him with thieving a bit of a brush took place, and he ultimately gave Hilturn into custody, Hilburn stoutly denied any intention of theft and tried to make the Bench believe that he entered the gardens for another purpose. Mr Batcbelor, however, imposed a fine of 2/6, and 2/- cosls cr 7 days.
