DENBIGHSHIRE FINANCE GOOD NEWS FOR COLWYN BAY. A REDUCED COUNTY RATE. At the Denbighshire County Council on Friday the Finance Committee's minutes showed that the estimajted rate recom- mended for -the half year was 5d for igfllierjaJ counlty purpose, |d for higher education, and 5d for elementarv educa- t,cu making a totail for the half year of 4 10!d, as comipared with Is last year. tMi E. Roberts moved an amendment that the rate for general purposes be r- cuced from 5d to 4d. Tihe expenditure on the main roatda was a most sea-ioug matter Twenty years aigo their roads coot. them £ 12.000, whereas now they required £ 26,000. ;Mr Oomer Roberts It was £ 12,000 ten years ago. Mr Cihristmas Jones seconded the amend- ment. Mr Cromar. the chairman of the Finance, Committee, said he hoped the a-mendment would not be carried'. ft was true that the estimate presented a.t the beginning of the year for the main roads was C26,000, but the committee had reduced that by R2000 He thought they had done remarkaJbly well in doing that, and he hoped they would' not attemptt eitiill further to reduce it. He also understood that the precepts on the basis ot a 5d rate had been already issued. After a, long discussion the amendment was carried by 22 votes to 15.
Cfte Suffering Sex
Cfte Suffering Sex Good Counsel from a Young Woman, once nerve-shattered and Bloodless. Now strong and well. Cured by Dr Williams Pink Pills Sad as is the story recited below by Miss ra Oliver, it provokes the thought, even more pathetic, that this is no unusual mis- tortune: it represents the unhappy lot of thousands of our countrywomen—mothers sisteris, and those dear to us. The brio-hter side is revealed. in the concluding para- graphs of Miss Oliver's statement, and her motive in telling her tale is that others of her sex, who still suffer, may know the abundance of help that is waiting for them in Dr Williams' Pink Pii! "When I was about fifteen years old said Miss Oliver, interviewed at her home, 68, Stanton Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne, "I became very depressed. I aged consider- ably in appearance, and my life was made Miss NORA OLIVER (from a photograph). a round of misery by sick headaches. Aly lips became parched, and aJmost any exer- tion made me gam for breath whilst, pal- pitations and pains in the heart were as bad as though I had heart-disease. "I tried many tonic medicines, and then aperients but my appetite failed, and such severe pains attacked me in the chest and back after a few mouthfuls of food, that I dreaded taking any nourishment. As the days passed I became nervous, and as (old as though my blood had turned to water. At nights my sleep was troubled by startling nightmares. "A doctor said my debility was the re- sult of Acute Anaemia. I was under his treatment. for a time, but fell away to a de- plorable state. "However, after reading an account of a young girl who had been cured of Ad- vanced Anaemia by Dr Williams' Pink Pills I procured a supply. "After taking a few boxes of Dr Williams' Pink Pi Is, my breathing was more regular, and I no longer felt depressed or irritable. I soon had a keener appetite for food, and was able to enjoy my meals free of pain and nausea. I "I continued to derive benefit from the Pills. My strength returned; my nerves be- came steady, and the headaches ceased. I slept well at nights, and arose in the morn- ings thoroughly refreshed. Aftier continu- ing with the Pi'.ls a little longer the colour came back to my face, and I regained my weight and soon enjoyed perfect health." Women need plenty of rich, red blood, at all ages, to make womanly life easy, &iid the very reason why Dr Williams' Pink Pills have cured so many sufferers is that they make New, Red Blood, thus curing Anaemia, I Debility, Backache, Headaches, Neuralgia, St. Vitus' Danoe, Rheumatism, and Sciatica; also the ailments that afflict women only. But women must be on their guard against substitutes and accept the gen- uine only-Dr Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People (seven words). TEACHERS AND WORKHOUSE CHILDREN. At a meeting of the Conway Guardians on Friday, it was reported that a child from the Workhouse who was suffering from chronia ear trouble, had been somewhat worse, through, it was alleged, being struck over the kar by one of the school teachers. The Clerk had written to the Headmistress of the Conway National School for her ex- planation. The latter wrote that she knew nothing of the matter, and the teacher whose name was mentioned denied the charge.— M essrs P. H. McClement and W. Davies (Colwyn) stated that it was not the first time for the children to be beaten at the Conway Schools, and on one occasion an apology had to be made to that Board.—The matter was referred back to the committee for further inquiries.
