BLAENAU FESTINIOG. MEDICAL SUCCESS.—The son of Dr -ti. D. J1-. vans, Mr Thomas John Ga'ey Evans, has passed the primary examination for the Fellow- ship of the College of Surgeons, England. F.R.C.S. at an examination held from April 3rd to May 5th, at The Examination Hall, London. -Th-.i subjects were: Advanced anatomy, advanced physiology, and' comparative anatomy. He is 18 years of age-the average ag2 to go in for the examination is 23. TEST CONCERT.—A test- concertwas held at the Assembly Rooms on Monday night, the Rev Gwilvm R-ees, B.A., presiding, and Mr J. Charles McLean, A.R.C.O., acting as musical adjudicator. Mr H. Ellis Hughes adjudicated the (recitations, and' the accompanist was Miss A. E. Owen. The following Awards were made Challenge solo: 1, Mrs Eifion Jones; 2, Mr J. T. Owen 3, Gutyn Eifion andi Miss! Pattie May Roberts (equal). The prize for reciting was. won by Miss Bessie Jones, Yspytty. The audience was estimated at about 1500. The proceeds were devoted 'to the funds of the Jeru- salem Congregational Chapel. The challenge duat was won by Mr and Mrs Eifion Jones, the second prize going to Messrs J. Thomas and David Morris, Tnawsfyiiydd.
