IN order to commemorate the Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales held in Carnarvon in 1894 in some tangible form, it has been proposed that Mr PHIL. MORRIS'S PICTURE of EDWARD I. demanding the oath of allegiance to his infant son, the first Prince of Wales, should be purchased and presented to the Town. The carrying out of this suggestion would not only effect the above object, but would also give to Carnarvon a work of art which would yearly increase in value. The Picture, which is on view in the Carnar- von Institute, can be purchased upon the most favourable terms (£300). The Eisteddfod Committee have voted the sum of X50 towards the object.
