Fashionable Weddiiig at Carmar- then. PRICE—LEWIS. A fashionable wedding took place at St. Peter's Church, Carmarthen, on Tuesday at 10 a.m., the contracting parties being Miss Shirley Lewis, youngest daughter of Dr Thomas Lewis, M.D" of Car- marthen, and Rev. Connop L. Price, minor canon of Llandaff and youngest son of the Rev Lewis Price, vicar of Llandilo and Llandefeisant. The service, which was fully choral, was performed by the bridegroom's father, assisted by Minor Canon Skrimshire, of Llandaff, and tho Right Rev the Lord Bishop of Swansea. In the absence of her father, through ill- health, the bride was given away by her brother, Dr Cyril Lewis. The bride looked charming in a gown of white embroidered silk gauza trimmed with lace and insertion. Her hat was of white drawn chiffon, trimmed with white ostrich feathers and pearl embroidered crown, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of orchids and orange blossoms, the gift of the bridegroom, who also presented the bridesmaid, Miss Muriel Byers, cousin of tho bride, with the pearl and gold brooch which she wore on a lovely gown of pale blue ombroidered lawn, with tucked bodice, trimmed lace, and insertion, her hat being of blue satin straw, trimmed with white chiffon and wings, and her bouquet of sweet peas. Mr R. F. Mayou, headmaster of Coleshill Grammar School, discharged the best man's duties. The rest of the wedding party comprised Mrs Lewis, the bride's mother, who was attired in a black moire gown, with white tucked chiffon vest, and an elegant bonnet of black and gold the bridegroom's mother, Mrs Price, who wore a black and mauvo silk with bonnet ai suite; tho Rev Ernest and Mrs Skrimshiro, Llandaff; Miss Lili Price, sister of the bridegroom Mrs Hugh Williams, sister of the bride; Mr Claude Lewis, Mr Bernard Lewis, brothers of the bride; Mr and Mrs Edwin Jeffries, Market Harborough; Miss Mildred Lloyd Morris, Llanelly and the Misses Richards, Carmar- then. The hymns, The Voice that breathed o'er Eden and 0, perfect Love," were rendered during the service. After the signing of the register in the vestry, the organist, Mr Silver, F.C.O., played Mendelssohn's, "VV edding March." As the bride and bridegroom were leaving the church to reach their carriage confetti, rice, and other "good augury" tokens fell in showers for many minutes. The wedding breakfast was served at the residence of the bride's father, and later in the day Mr and Mrs Connop Price left for the South of England. The bride's going-away dress was a dark blue and white silk, trimmed profusely with narrow white quilled ribbon, her hat being a fine dark blue straw trimmed with shaded blue feathers. Spilman-street and other thoroughfares in Carmarthen had been decorated for the occasion by the inhabitants as expressions of their good will; and tho bells of St. Peter's rang out merry peals in tho morning. L A M P E T E R V E L FR E Y. DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MR H. K. MORGAN.— It is with much regret that we reeoid the death of Mr Hugh Kenyon Morgan, Coedyfynnon, Lampeter-Velfrey, which occurred ou Friday, 15th ult., at the early age of 39. lie was highly respected by all clabses especially when it is considered the short time ho had been amongst them, it was ilurprising to find so many. Deceased was the second eon of the late Mr Howard Spear Morgan, of Tegfynydd, Llanfallteg. Mr Morgan had been complaining for the last four months, suffering from cancer in the chest, and had been attended by Dr Lloyd, of Haverfordwest. He also had consulted a London specialist about six months ago, who pronounced it a hopeless case the deceased gentleman being quite unable to swallow any solid food for some time. During his long illness, the Rev Mr Williams, rector of Lampeter-Velfroy, was most attentive on the deceased, who was a most faithful member of the Church. He leaves a widow and one daugbter- about two years old-to mourn his early and quite unexpected death, for whom the greatest sympathy is felt throughout the district.The funeral took place on Tuesday at Lampeter Church. The Rev Mr Price, curate, officiated at the house; the Rev Mr Williams, closing by prayer whilst at the church the Rev J Morris, Rector of Narberth, read tbe lessons, and, at the graveside the Rev Mr Williams officiated. The service throughout was most impressive. The well-known Welsh hymn, 0 Fryniau Caerealem ceir Gweled," &c., was sung at the close of the service in a very touching manner. The outer coffin was of polished oak, with an inner coffin of lead and an inner shell. It bore the following inscription :—" H K Morgan, Esq., died I 15th July, 1898, aged 39 years." The undertaker was Mr David Thomas, Whitland. The bearers were the tenants of the Tegfynydd Estate, and the popular agent of the estate, Mr Thomas Evans, Tegfynydd, was also present. There was a large number of wreaths from relations and friends from all parts of the country. Gentlemen only attended the funeral. Amongst the mourners we noticed Mr Owen Williams, Fern Hill, Haverfordwest (cousin); Mr Harvey, Saundersfoot, and Mr Harvey, Liverpool (brother-in-law) Mr Joseph Howells and Mr William Howells, Whitland (brothers-in-law), and the servants of Coedyfynnon.
