» Death of Alderman David Griffiths, Kidwelly. We regret to announce that on Wednesday evening (April 16th), Alderman David Griffiths died at his residence, London House, Kidwelly, of paralysis, at the age of 75. He was a member of the corporation under the old charter for a number of years ar.d served under that charter as a J.P. for the borough. Crder the new charter Mr Griffiths WPS again a member, and was made an alderman of the borough in 1888. He was also for some years a member of the Kidwelly School Board. In politics he was a Conservative but he ne-or took any aitive part in political life. He was a constant member and a deacon of the Morfa Calviniftic Methodist Chapel, of which place of worship he was one of the main piillars. He leaves behind a widow and two sons and three daughters, his sldest son being the Rev D. T. Griffiths, B.A., curate-in- charge of St John's AN,-elrh Church, Carmarthen, while the other son is Dr. J. K. Griffiths, house surgeon at the Carmarthen Infirmary. The funeral took place on Saturday, the deceased gentleman being buried at St. Mary's Churchyard. The funeral was a public one, and was very largely attended. The service in the house was conducted by the Rev D. G. O wen, C M., and the Vicar of Kidwelly (the Rev D. D. Jones) officiated in the Church and at the graveside.
