- ---------------"---' AIRSHIP…
AIRSHIP OVER ABERDARE AND MERTHYR. About 7 o'clock Monday evening hundreds of people in Aberdare ana neighbourhood had their faces turned towards the sky, a strange, oblong, flaming object being visible above Mer- thyr mountain. No one could tell what it was. Some argued that it was thI tail of a comet or some other astron- omical phenomenon, while others dis- missed it as a reflection on the edge of the clouds of the Dowlais Ironwork lava. It appears, however, that it wa» a British airship. Mr. C. B. Stanton, M.P., who was one of the spectators OJ the object, made enquiries on returning to London on Tuesday. He saw Major Baird, M.P., of the Air Board, who later sent him a note sayl n,(, There is nO doubt that the airship seen over Aber- dare and Merthyr last night was on* of ours. \ou will not ask me where lives. The main thing is that it ours." Mr Stanton was given authorl" ty to make the fact known.
