Mr Jenkin Lewis, Kingsbury Place, was the lan- ternist. SOAR M.I.S. — An interesting debate took place on Tuesday evening on Should crimes be advertised through the press?" Mr John Evans took the affirmative side, and Mr Howell Owen the negative. The following took part in the discussion:—Rev. W. D. Morris, Messrs Thomas Lloyd, Morgan Wil- liams, William Henry Davies, Timothy Daniel, W. O. Lloyd, Edward Daniel, Evan Evans, Joseph Thomas, William Jones. Mr Evan Evans was chairman. AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHIC SO- CIETY. The making of lantern slides, a constant source of trouble to many, was the subject demonstrated at the above society last Wednesday evening. Mr A. Riddiford was responsible for the practical work, and gave a very in- teresting shew. Various methods, by contact, by magnesium ribbon, and by using the rays from the enlarging lantern were all shown. A hearty vote of thanks was awarded the demonstra- tor. The next lecture will be Through Cornwall with a Reflex," given by Mr W. Owen, and illustrated by original lantern slides.
