OFFICES, pro. tem. 3 and 4, WILLIAMS' COURT, BETHESDA. PROSPECTUS: This Company is formed for the purpose of acquiring and WOr king the Cwm Issa Slate Quarry, near Capel Currig, North Wales. The property is held under an agreement for a lease for 60 years, from the thirtieth day of May, 1872, on the following favourable terms, viz.:— An annual rental of £20 for the first three years of the term, and afterwards an annual rental of X40, merging into the low royalty of 213 6dper ton (computed weight) for slates (slab and ton slates excepted) for the first 20 years, and for the remainder of the term a royalty oi 3s per ton (umputed weight) for slates (slab and ton slates excepted), and 2s per ton for all sltb and ton slates. The property comprises about 77 acres of land, and the situation is exceedingly advantageous for the opening out of an extensive quarry, having ample and most con- venient tipping ground, and having also a, sufficient and constant supply of water on the property to work exten- sive and powerful machinery for sawing and diessicg slabs and slates, and other purposes. Quarry managers of the highest standing have ex- amined the property, and speak in the most fluttering terms of the quality and quantity of slate rock on the estate. The bLte is of a superior quality, ard iu all respects similar to the renowned Festiniog slate. The slate rock on the property is very extensive. The top rock is most promising^ aDd all the slate reek ou the property, as far ad it has betn proved, is of a very superior qualitj. It is a well-known fact that the slats trade has never been so brisk, and the demand for slates so great, as at tue present, the prices having advanced from 25 to 30 per cent, within the last, two y;ars, witk every promise ,)1 a healthy continuance of a flemishing trade. The cost of cartage to the Buttwu-y-Coed Railway Station (being a distance of six miles) wiil be oidy 5s per ton, and as the Bill for the construction of a line of railway from Portm'idoc to Bettws-y-coede has received the Royal assent, and such line running through the property, the expense will be very materially dimini- shed, and a direct communication between the quarries and Portmadoc opened, thus affording the Company the advantages of exporting their slates by sea as well as by rail. The vendor agrees to accept the sum of £ 7,500 as the purchase money for the whole of his interest in the property, leaving a balance of working capital of £ 12,5(j0j which undoubtedly will be more than sum cient to make the quarry a paying concern. Of this sum of £7,500 the vet dor agrees to take X2,500 in puid-op shares. With the present advantages, natural and acquired, nd with prospects so exceptionally promising, there are he strongest reasons for believing this enterprise will nut only succeed as a means of investirent, but will ■ esult in profits equalling those realised by renowned quarries in North Wales. Application for shares, accompanied with a deposit of £ 20 per share, to be made to the Banker, Solicitor, or at the offices of the Company. The shares will be allotted in rotation, consequently an early application is neces- sary. Plana of the estate may te inspected at the offices of tue Company, where any other information may be obtained. January, 1876. FORM OF APPLICATION FOR SHARES.
