WHEREAS it is- provided bv section 17 VV (1) of the Motor Car Act, 1903, that a Motor Gar shall not be driven on or over Menai Bridge except in accordance with Regulations made by the Commissioners of Works. AMD WHEREAS in pursuance of the power given to us br the said Act, We, the Commissioners of Work, did on the 1st da'v of Decenaber, 1903, make certain Regula- tions with respect to the u&e of Motor Cars on Menai Bridge. AND WHEREAS it is our intention to make fresh Regulations with respect to the use of Motor Cars on Menai Bridge to come into operation on the first day of April. 1909. NOW therk-fore by this Our Regulation. We do re-scind our said Regulations of the list day of Decemiber, 1903. as from the 1st day of April, 1909, and do declare that as from that date such Regulations shall cease to apply and have effect. TX7TIIEREAS it is provided by section 17 VV (1) of the Motor Car Arat, 1903, that a Motor 'Ca.r shall not be driven on or over Menai Brid'ge except in aeoafctance with Regulations made by the Commissioners of Works, and by section 17 (2) of the said Act that i.f any person acts in contravention of that section he shall be liable on summary conviction in respect of the first offence to a fine not exceeding ten pounds, and, in respect of the second offence to a fine not exceeding £ 20, and in respect of any subse- quent offence to a fine not exceeding £ 50. NOW THEREFORE in: pursuance of the power given to us by the said Act, We, the Gomrmwwionera of Works do make the fol- lowing Regulations with respect to the use of Motor Cars on Menai Bridige, and direct that the saime shall have- effect on and after the fir&t day of April, 1909. 1. In these ReguJadiona the expression "iMotor Car" means a vehicle propelled by mechanical power whiah is under three tons in weight unladen and, is not used for the purpose of drawing more than one vehicle (such vehicle with its motor car not exceeding in weight unladen four tons) and is so constructed that no smoke or visible vapour is emitted therefrom except from any temporary or accidental cause. Provided that in calculatting for the purposes of these Regulations the weight of a vehicle unladen, the weight of etny water, fuel or accumulators used for the purpose of propttlsioai shall not be included. 2. No person driving or in charge of a Motor Car when in use on edther of the approach roadb on the Bridge beftween the gates ajid the central span of the Bridge shall at any time cause or suffer the same to proceed at a greater speed than ten rrulea an hour. 3. When the Bridge is under Repair, which will be indicated by the display of a red flag at or near each entrance gate, no person driving or in charge of a Motor Car when in use on either of the said approach roads shall cause or suffer the same to proceed at a greater sipeed than four miles an how- 4. No person driving or in charge of a Motor Car when in use on the central span of the Bridige shall cause or sniffer the same to proceed at a greater speed' than four miles an hour. 5. No person driving or in charge of a. Motor Car when in use on the Bridge shall wilfully calwo the same to stop un. necessarily or to Loiter thereon.
