CORN.
CORN. LIVEBPOOL, Tuesday.—The attendance at our Exchange to-day was bmall, and but little disposition was shown to buy Wheat, although all descriptions were purchasable at a concession of Id to 2d per cental on the values of this day week. The total quantity of Wheat shipped from America to Europe during the past week amounted to 315,000 quarters of which 205,000 quarters were for U.K. (including 23,000 for Liverpool and 80,000 for the Continent), and from California and Oregon 30,000. Flour sold slowly at previous figures. Indian Corn experienced a moderate inquiry, and, being more plentifully offered, declined 2d to 3d per cental. Mixed American Old, 5s 10d to 5s 10^d New, 5s 9d to 5s 9^d Galatz, 6s 7d to 6s lOd per lOOlbs. The shipments were 213,500 quarters to U.K. (Liver- pool, 27,500; and 40,000 to the Continent, making a total of 253,500 quarters. Beans on the spot were scarce, and brought rather higher prices. Egyptian Saidi, 83; and Daira, 8s Id. Peas steady in value, but quiet of sale. Canadian 7s Ld per cental. Oats in fair request, at former currencies. Oatmeal very quiet, at late rates.
CATTLE.
CATTLE. LIVEBPOOL, Monday.-There was a large falling-off in the supply of cattle, and a large increase of sheep, the numbers being 1,072 beasts and 3,450 sheep. Prices much about the same as last week. Trade very slow, and buyers from the country not very numerous. No foreign stock on offer.-Prices: Best beasts, 8td to 8f d per lb. second ditto, 6d to 8d prime Scots, 8td to 8 [d 2 4 sheep in wool, 10^d to Illd ditto clipped, 9d to lOd. LONDON", Monday.—The beast market was quite as good as last week, with rather a brisk demand for second qualities. No difficulty experienced in clearing prime cattle. The tendency of value, if anything, has been upward. The British supply comprised 185 Scotch, 250 Irish, 900 Norfolk, Suffolk, and Fssex, and 960 Midland and Home Counties. Not quite so much money has been made in the sheep market. Lamb considerably lower. English calves were scarce and dear. Pigs firm.-Prices: Beef, 4s 6d to 6s per 8 lbs; mut- ton, 48 Gd to 6s 4d veal, 5s 6d to 7s; pork, 3s 6d to 5s; lamb, 8s to 9s. The stock on offer con- sisted of 2,480 beasts, 10,970 sheep and lambs, and 220 calves; included in which were 410 foreign beasts, 100 sheep, and 20 calves. SALFORD, Tuesday.-Rather less supply of beasts, and trade brisk at an advance of about id per lb. The number of sheep on offer about the same as last week, with trade slow for both clipped and in wool at last Tuesday's prices. Calves difficult to sell, and lower prices had to be accepted. Quotations B-asts, 6td to Sid per lb. 4 4 sheep in woo], 9t1 to lid; clipped, 8d to 9d calves, 8d to lOd.
PRODUCE.
PRODUCE. LIVERPOOL, Wednesday.—There is a little more inquiry for Sugar to-day but with no present results nor change in value. Rum brings previous values. Coffee is in rather better request. Cocoa is firm. Nothing done with the Rice at auction. Sales of Clover, Cotton, and Castor Seeds, but nothing in Linseed, Jute, or Hemp. Coir Yarn has brought steady rates. Little done at the Dyewoods sales; nearly all the Fustic withdrawn; by private, however, some business was transacted at steady prices.
