CATTLE. LONDON, Monday. Good average su ply of home-grown beasts, the British side being well up as regards quality. A good consumptive demand for all prime animals; second and inferior breeds dull of sale; best Juts and Portuguese rather dearer. The British supply comprised 140 Scotch, 1200 Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex, and 1120 midland and home counties. Considerable business done in sheep out of wool. Lambs very short and dear. Calves and pigs a firm trade. Beef, 4s. 6d. to 6s.; mutton, 4s. 6d. to 6s. 4d.; veal, 5s. 6d. to 6s. 8d.; pork, 3s. td. to 5s.; lambs, 9s. to 10s. The stock on offer consisted of 2920 beasts, 13,090 sheep, 220 calves, and 20 pigs included in which were 460 foreign beasts, 80 sheep, and 20 calves. LIVERPOOL, Monday.—There was a small supply of stock on offer, the number being 1282 beasts and 2950 sheep. Prices were very high. The attendance of buyers was very small. There were 41 Spanish cattle at market, but no other foreign stock. WOOL. BRADFORD, Monday.-The wool market con- tinued firm with an upward tendency. The business done was fairly good, some transactions for export having taken place within the past few days. Spinners of worsted yarn held out for full quotations, and in Jsome cases asked an advance, which to some extent restricted business. In pieces, home trade and foreign merchants were buying more freely, and quotations were advanc- ing.
