CORN. LIVERPOOL, Tuesday.—At our exchange, to-day, there was a good attendance, and to purchase Wheat millers were obliged to pay 2d to 3d for white and fully 3d per cental more money for red descriptions than on Friday last. This advance tended in some measure to check the business, but on the whole a fair trade resulted. March-April Californian sold at lis 3d per 100lbs., and a cargo of 4,000 quarters Californian (wooden ship), December bill of lading for Liver- pool direct, sold at 53s 6d per 5001bs. The Total shipments from all Atlantic ports for the past week amount to 187,500 quarters, 107/00 of which are for the United Kingdom (Liverpool, 10,000) 50.000, go to the Continent, and 30,000 are from California and Oregon. Flour very strong, and in better demand at 3d to 6d per cental advance. Indian corn: Owing to continued extreme scarcity holders were enabled to obtain a further improvement of 2d to 3d per cental on mixed and white American, whilst Galatz brought full prices. The shipments include 149,500 quarters for the United Kingdom (6,500 for Liverpool), and 60,000 for the continent, making a total of 209,500 quar- ters. To-day's spot quotations were:—Mixed American, old, 5s lid to 5s llld; new 5s 10d: 2 0 white 5s lOd and Galatz, 6s 4d to 6s 6d per lOOlbs. Barley in moderate request at steady prices. Beans were in very good demand at the full rates of Friday last; Egyptian Saidi, 7s 8id to 7s 9d per cental. Peas met with a fair trade at very steady prices. Oats were generally unaltered, feeding qualities being exceptionally Id to 2d per cental dearer. Oatmeal also made Id to 2d per cental more money, and a fair trade was done. LONDON, Monday.—The market was strong and fairly active. English wheat Is, foreign Is to 2s, and American 2s dearer on the week. Flour firm and about 6d dearer on the week. Oats and maize 3d to 6d higher since last Monday. Barley firm but unaltered. Beans and peas remain steady. Market very dull for farming seeds. American red clover seed considerably lower. Grass seeds slow of sale. Spring tares steady. Canary seeds dull. Remp sold at 32s, and Millet at 57s per quarter.

CATTLE. LIVERPOOL, Monday.—The supply of cattle was rather larger than on last Monday, and included a cfergo of Canadians. Of sheep the supply was smaller. The demand was slow for both cattle and sheep, at the full prices of last Monday fcr each. American supp y of live cattle and fresh meat was considerably less than last week-400 cattle and 1,000 carcases of beef. Prices: Beef, 6d to 8^D; mutton, 7|D to Sfd. There were 1,385 cattle and 4,992 sheep at market. LONDON, Monday.—Trade has been quiet but firm in the beast market, prices being fully 2d. per 8lbs. higher than laet Mondav. The British supply comprised 160 Scotch, 20 Irish, 900 Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex, and 940 midland and home counties. A small supply of foreign. Business more active in the sheep market at full prices to a slight advance. Calves very firm and in demand. Pigs were quoted dearer. Prices: Beef, 4s to 6s mutton, 4s 6d to 6S. lOd; veal, 5s to 6s 8d; pork, 3s 6d to 5s. The stock on offer consisted of 2,400 beasts, 12,260 sheep, and 110 calves; included in which were 380 foreign beasts and 30 sheep.

WOOL LONDON, Monday.-7983 bales were offered for sale this evening, comprising 2946 Victorian, 2523 Cape, 669 South Australian, 611 Natal, :592 New Zealand, 633 New South Wales and Queensland, and 9 skins. Competition continues very active at fully late rates. BRADFORD, Monday.—There was again a con- siderable turn over of wool, and prices were hardening. The excitement at the London sales tended to strengthen the market. Finer qualities of wool were most in demand. Some fair orders for yarn have again been placed, and spinners have further put up their quotations. In pieces the chief business was for America. Generally speaking, manufacturers were better employed, and quotations were firmer.
POTATOES.
POTATOES. LONDON, Monday.—Supplies continue rather large, and trade was fairly good at the following prices :-Regents, 120s to 160s; flukes, 120s to 180s; victorias, 120s to 180s; rocks, 80s to 120s; French, 100s to 120s per ton foreign kidneys, 5s 6d to 6s; reds 6s 6d to 7s 3d per bag. EXTRAORDINARY RISE IN THE PRICE OF POTA- TOES.-OVing to the large demand for potatoes for export to Ireland, the price of this article has considerably advancel in the markets of Forfar and Perthshire, and is still rising. The demand is cheifly for the variety known as the Champion, and as much as £ 8 to X8 5s per ton was freely offered in Arbroath market on Saturday.

COAL. LONDON, Monday.—The market continued dull. House coals at about last Friday's prices. Hetton and original Hartlepool, 15s 9d; Lambton, 15s 6d; Lyons, South Hartlepool, and Wear, 14s. Cargoes at market 60, sold 56, at sea 25.

HOPS. LONDON, Monday.—There was no improve- ment to report in the trade, and old hops were still generally pressed for sale. Good new hops, however, being scarce, maintained their value.
