THE SWANSEA PAVILION, JL LIMITED, INCORPORATED UNDER THE COMPANIES r •" ACTS, 1862 TO 1883, CAPITAL P,12,000, in 12,000 ShareA of Ll MellI payable—5s per Share on Application, 5S on Allotment; and the bilance as may be required, at intervals of not leso than ;wo months. DIRECTORS, GEORGE EDWARDES, Esq., Theatrical Manager, Gaiety Theatre, Strand, W.C. Dr. D. HOWELL THOMAS, Vincent Lodge, Swansea. D. F. SUGRUE, Esq., Manager of the Swansea Improvements and Tramways Company. BANKERS. THE GLAMORGANSHIRE BANKING COMPANY, LIMIT3D, SWANSEA. Messrs BARCLAY, BEVAN, and Co., 54, Lombard- street, .C. SECRETARY AND OFFICES. J. W. AUSON, 4, Copthall-buildings, London, E.C. This company has been formed for the purpose of acquiring a valuable building site in the town of Swansea, and erecting thereon a hall for musical and other entertainments, refreshment-rooms, and wine and spirit stores. The site which has been chosen is admirably adapted for the pa-nose, being bounded on the two sides by the Prince of Wales-road and High-street (which are the widest an.1 most important thoroughfares in the town) and on tiie third side by Bethesda-street; so that ample meins of access to the building is afforded. The agreement which has been entered into with the Swansea improvements and Tramways Company (who are the freeholders) provides for a long lease of the site at th? low ground rent of £ 150 per annum, and for the purchase of the goodwill of the Ancient Briton. an old fully licensed house which now stands on por- tion of thf land, at, the price of ;CI,OW, to be paid entirely iti shares of the company. Detailed plans and specifications of the proposed building liave already been prepared, ana a tender has been received from a well known firm of builders to carry out the construction for the sum of £7,700, ex- clusive of the fittings and decorations, which are estimated to amount to about £ 1,000 more. The Building will be in the Renaissance, style, and standing at the junction of High-street and Prince of Wales-road, will form one "of the most striking objects of the town. The Ground Floor, which covers an area of over 5,000 feet, will be used as a Refreshment Bar and Bodega, leaving ample room for access by a broad and easy staircass to the Hall above, which is to occupy the First Floor, and will accommodate over 800 people while the Basement will be used for Wine and Spirit Stores. The building will be fire-proof throughout, and special regaid will be paid to the means of egress without danger or obstruction. The towr of Swansea, one of the largest and wealthiest in the Principality, is at present almost entirely without any place of amusement of the kind, and it is universally admitted that there is a want of a well conducted place of entertainment for musica and other performances of a popular character. Another important feature in the scheme is that the Building will be close to the Station of the Great We-tern Railway, and on the direct route of the lines belonging to the Swansea Tramways Company, so that people livirg in the outlying districts of the Mumbles, Morriston, Landore, and Cwmbwrla will be brought direct from their homes to the doors of the Hall. A very careful estimate has been made of the probable return which may be expected from the undertaking, and it is calculated that after deducting all charges for management and working expenses, a profit of at least 15 per cent, will be shown on the proposed capital of £ 12,000. It is not, however, intended at first to call up he whole of this capital, and the directors will only do so as the necessities of the business may require. The only contract which has been entered into is one dated June 24th, 1886, between the Swansea Improve- ments and Tramways Company of the one part, and J. W. Alison, on behalf of this proposed company, of the other pirt, beina; the agreement for lease above referred to. Copies of the memorandum and articles of association of 'this company, and of the contract above-mentioned, may be inspected at the offices of the company. Application for shares must be made on the accom- panying form, and forwarded to the bankers or to the secretary of the company, together with the amount payable on application. Prospectuses and forms of application for shares may be obtained of the bankers, or at the offices of the company. III the event of no allotment being made the deposit money will be returned in full.
