LEEDER has been in- structed to OFFER FOR SALE by PUBLIC AUCTION, at the Mackworth Arms Hotel, Swansea, on TUESDAY, the 10th day of December, 1878, at Two for Three o'clock in the Afternoon, all that well-known ANTHRACITE COLLIERY, called the CWMLLYNFELL COLLIEPY, Which has for nearly half a century been carried on by Messrs James and Aubrey, and comprises a mineral pro- perty of about 570 acres, of which about 1[0 are copy- hold of the Manor of Caegurwcn, and the remainder Leasehold. THE COPYHOLD PORTION Consists of the Farms called "Coedfalde," "Ty- newydd," and Pantybara," containing about 150 acres, with farm-houses and out-buildings. A recently erected and commodious house suitable for the resi- dence of a Managing Partner, also stabling for colliery horses. Much of the Land is admirably adapted for building, and the whole (except a small portion already let on building leases) is now in hand. The iron-ore, iron-stone, and quarries of stone, and beds of clay and sand, under this property are subject to a lease granted by R. D. Gough, Esq., to Mr Geo. Crane, for the term of, 99 years, from the 1st day of July, 1837, and the rents and royalties (except surface rents) in respect'of the same, belong to the said R. D. Gough, a term of 09 years and two days from the 1st day of July, 1837, being reserved to him to enable him to receive the same. THE LEASEHOLD PORTIONS Comprise the Colliery, with the pits, shafts, levels, and engine houses, smiths' and carpenters' shops, sawing t machine, offices, and cottages, and the coal, culm, iron- stone, and iron ore under the farm called hCWMLLYN- FELL," containing 80 acres, or thereabouts, held for the term of 60 years, from the 1st day of January, 1825. Ex- tensive railway sidings have been constructed hy the lessees on this property to connect the Colliery with the Midland Railway. The coal, culm, ironstone, iron ore, stone, fire clay, 1 clay, and sand within and under the farm and lands pcalled "YSTRADOWEN," containing 251a. lr. 39p., held f for the term of 60 years from the 25th day of March, 1873. i; The coal and iron-ore, or iron-stone, and all other minerals, clay, and stone, in or under the farm and lands called CWMTWRCH," containing 91a. 2r. 13p., held for a term of 60 years, from the 1st day of July, 1851. l Also the surface of the said farm, held for the term of 21 ( years from the 25th day of March, 1872. This farm is let to Mr William Griffiths, as a yearly tenant, at the rent t of £53.. The rents reserved by the above leases amount together to £ 421, and the royalties vary from 4d to 8d on coal, [ the other royalties being correspondingly low. Rents for surface damage are also reasonable. Almost all the veins of coal known in the district lie under this property, including the Big Vein, Brass Vein, and Tregloiu Vein. The lower measures under the whole, and much of the Big Vein under Coedfalde, and the Brass and Big Veins under Ystradowen, remain unworked. The property is situate in the parishes of LIanguicke and Llangadock, about 15 mites from the Port of Swan- sea, to which access is obtained by means of the Swansea Vale Section of the Midland Railway, The Port of Llanelly is also within reasonable distance by rail; and the Colliery is included in the through booking of the various Railway Companies to all the principal markets in England.1 The Colliery is open for a considerable daily out-put, and is in constant work, the trade connection being ex- tensive, and much of it of long standing, so that the good- will oi the business is of considerable value. Tho fixed and moveable machinery and plant at the Colliery, which is considerable, will be included in the fule, but the Colliery horses and ponies, and live and dead farming stock, will have to be taken at a valuation in the usual way. The Firm have always kept a stock of a few thousand tons of coal and culm at the Colliery, which the purchaser of the Colliery will have the CDtion of pur- chasing.. ,b. The present selling price at the pit's mouth for best coal is 63 9d to 7s 6d nett per statute ton, the prices of other qualities varying from a minimum of Ss per ton for culm to the before-mentioned price?. There are no contracts in hand, so that full advantage could be taken of any upward movement in the coal trade. A Freehold House and Garden called Gellca-uchaf, in the Parish of Llangadock, now held by Griffith Davies (who is a very old man), at the annual rent of L4 4s, will be offered for sale at the same time in separate lots. Printed particulars and conditions of sale will shortly be issued, and further particulars, with leave to view, may be obtained on application to the Auctioneer, Ox- ford Chambers, Oxford-street, Swansea; or to Messrs STRICK & BELLI NGHAiT, 89598 Solicitors, Swansea. This Company is formed to carry out a concession granted by the Provincial Government of Pernambuco, confirmed by Decree of the Imperial Government of Brazil, for constructing and working a Railway from the Seaport City of Pernambuco to Limoeiro, a distance of about 50 miles, with a branch to Nazareth, in all about 60 miles. The City o( Pernambuco bag, including Olinda sub- urbs, a population of about 135,000, and about thirty steamers call at Pemambuco each month, including those belonging to the Royal Mail Company, Pacific Steam Navigation Company, Lamport and Holt, Messageries Maritimes, American Line, &c. The Railway will: traverse the rich and productive Capibaribe Valley, embracing the best cultivated and most prolific Districts of the Province, and convey to Pernambuco for shipment a large' proportion of what forms the total exports of the Province, meh as sugar, cotton, and other valuable products, besides farinha, beans, Indian corn, rum, molasses, hides, &c.for home consumption, and for export. There being no navigable rivers, the bulk of this valuable traffic, as well as a large return traffic, now carried chiefly by pack-horses, will be conveyed by the Railway; Sir John Hawkshaw, in his Report to the Government upon the Harbour of Pernambuco and Railways of the Province. says, The Limoeiro line will no doubt get more traffic, as it runs straight into the interior at right angles to the coast, and there is no water communi- cation to compete with it. The ground conceded near Fort Brum for its terminus is an excellent situation," The Works are to be proceeded with at once, and are to be completed to Limoeiro by end of 1881, and to Nazareth by end of 1832. When no allotment is made, the deposit will be re- turned without deduction. Should a less number of Shares be allotted than is applied for, the surplus paid upon application will be applied towards the amouat due on allotment. Subscribers will have the option of paying up their Shares in full on allotment, or at the time of payment of any subsequent call, and the full interest of 7 per cent, will accrue upon the amounts from time to time paid up. Applications in the form attached to the Prospectus, accompanied by a deposit of £ 1 on each Share applied for, should be forwarded to the Bankers of the Company. Particulars as to the Contract for the construction of the Works, Estimates of Revenue, Statistics as to Traffic, and further information, will be found in the Detailed Prospectus, which, with Forms of Application. can be obtained at the Offices of the Company, and of the Brokers above named.
