The. following^ re- port was adopted :— (1) The Secretary was- directed, to communicate with contain Churches in default, and to urge them to contribute their full quota to the Fund. The matter was referred to the Committee dealing with this Church, and the Secretary Was in- sructed to call it together at an early date. Rev. J. D. Evans, M.A., was appointed a member of the Committee vice Rev. D. Richards. 10. Appointments. (a) Clifton. Street.. Delegates, to take the vote of the Church in the Election of Elders.— Rev. J. J. The re- quest of the Mer-thyir and; Aberdare District that the present temporary division be made permanent was aceeded to. Particulars of the divis- ion to be reported at the next Pres- bytery. 12. Moderatorship of the South Wales Association. The foil owing resolution was passed "That lay- men only be nominated next time for the mioderatiorsbip of the South Wales Association, and that in future, every third year, a layman be appointed. 13. Pastoral and AJUxiliiary Fund. (a) The Treasurer presienteid his report which was adopted. The total in- come of: the Fund for the two Pres- byteries was £204 2si. 1 id. Total dis. bursemenits,^ £ 194 16s. gd. Balance in hand,9 6s. 2d. (b) The suggestion that the whole sum be given aniniualiliy to. one Church, and not divided among several as at present, was referred to the Com- mittee for consideration. (c) 'The 'Treasurer was empowered to write to the Churches that bad not contributed to this Fund out of their 'Harvest Thanksgiving Collection. 14. Promissory Notes, (a) Payment of Debt: Ferndale, ,Cioo; (Ib) Exchange of Notes: Graig, ^50; Ferndale, Zioo; Treborth Home £30ö. 15. Trustees. Notice was given that Trustees will be appointed) for the imianisie of Ciathedral' Road Church, at the next Pireslbytery. 16. Association Messages. Two matters of importance arising out of the Aberystwyth. Association resolu- tions were dealt with. (a) The support of. the- Ministry Scheme. It was resolved to hold three sectional laymen's conferences at Cardiff, Pontypridd, and Merthyr respectively, and subseqently a united one at Cardiff, to consider the above subject. Conveners were appointed as follows: Cardiff, Mr. John Wil- liams, Whitchurch. Pontypridd, Mr. John Gamlin. Merthyr, Mr. J. W. Morris. (b) Commission of Enquiry. Revs. J. M. jontesl M.A., J. D1. Evans, M.A., and J. J. Thomas, B.A., were appoint- ed to represent the Presbytery on the above Commission. 17. Aged Ministers Fund. The claims' of the Fund were brought be- fore the Presbytery, and the following resolution of the Associaititon was read and endorsied:- "That whilst rejoicing that the sum of Zii,500 has, been prfomiseid, to- wards the Fund iin. aid of Aged and Infirm Ministers, the Association de- sir-es the Committee not to rest until the South Wales Fund for this worthy object shiali-have) reached £ 25,000. 18. South Wales and Monmouth- shire Band of Hope Union. An ap- peal for support to the Bazaar, to, be held in aid of the above next Autumn, was brought to the notice of the: P,rresby tery. The object of the Bazaar, is, to complete the sum of £3,500 to be raised in order to provide adequate Temperance Instruction in. tihe Schools of South Wales. The Churches are urged to co-operate in the matter. 18. New Member. The transfer • letter of the Rev. J. W. Pierry firom the Monmouthshire Presbytery was read. Mr. Perry was cordially welcomed. Mr. D. Erasmus Thomas, B.A., was ialiso warmly greeted on his return from military servibe. 19. Consecration of Elders. Four Elders weie received from Tonypandy Church, viz., Messrs. Albany, Mac- iGregor, John Howells, Joseph Mor- gan and C. M. Peters. The Rev. R. R. Roberts, B.A., questioned them. The Rev. T. C. JOines delivered an address'; and the Rev. Matthew Thomas offered the consecration prayer. 20. Devotional Session. The Rev. J. M. Jones, M.A., delivered a very helpful and ilns.piring address, on one of the great passages of Isaiah (C. 42, 1—4). 21. State of the Cause. The report of the Church officers was, very' satisfac- tory and encouraging. The Church isr greatly handicapped because it hias, no building. Still' it is, much indebted to the Welsh Church for its kindness in permitting the use of the vestry for services. The Sunday School meets in the Billiard1 Room, but, in spite of adverse conditionsi much creditable work is being done. The Church is growing steadily. The site for build- ing has been secured, and. it is, hoped that SlOOn. the conditions will be such as to enable them, to proceed with the structure. The prospects of the Church; are distinctly encouraging. 22. The Meeting was closed with prayer by the Rev. Matthew Thomas.
