COUNTY OF MONMOUTH. ~\TOTlCE 18 HEREBY GIVEN, that the next ll GESERA L QUARTER SESSIONS of the PEACE lOT the County of Monmouth, will be held at the Sessions House, Usk, On TUESDAY, the 5th day of April, 1881, And that the Court will sit at Tivelve o'clock at ivoon, and immediately proceed to administer the Oaths to Magistrates and other persons desirous of qualifying for office. The Court will then proceed with all business relating to the assessment, application, and management of the County Stock or Rate, or any fllnd or funds used and apptiedin aid thereof, and make orders for payments, and consider and direct the general business of the County, And will also take into consideration a recommendation made by the Police Committee, that the County Police Force be increased by the addition of one Constable thereto, and a recommendation by the Highicays' Committee that the salary of the County Surveyor be augmented. All BiU. and Demands relating to the public expen- diture of the County must be delivered into the office of the Clerk of the Peace fourteen days before the Sessions, and all Appeals must be entered with the Clerk of the Peace before Twelve o'clock at Noon on the second day of the Sessions. At Half-past Nine o'clock on W EDNESDA Y, the 6tft day of April, 1881, the Grand and Petty Juries will he called over, and are to answer to their nanies, or in default they will be fined; and all persons bound by recog- nizances are then to attend, as the Court will proceed to try Indictments and Appeals, and transact the other business of the Sessions. All Convictions and RecognhClnce., and all Informa- tions and Depositions, with the Certificates of costs, must be delivered or transmitted to the Clerk of the Peace three clear (lays previous to the Sessions. All Costs allowed by the County must be taxed at the same Sessions, or they will not afterwards be allowed. THE HIGHWAY ACT, 1862-1864. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY ALSO GTVEN, that the following is a Copy of a Provisional Order made at the last General Court of QUARTER SESSIONS held at USK, in and for the COUNTY of MONMOUTHSHIRE TO WIT. "1T7HBHEAS WILLIAM .ENEAS SEYS, V WILLIAM EDWARD CARNE CURRE, lIEXRY CLAY, JOHN LAWRENCE, and JOHN POLLARD MICKLETH W AIT, ESQUIRES, being five of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace, acting in and for the County of Monmouth, have, by a writing under their hands, delivered unto OSMOND ARTHUR WYATT, Esquire, the Clerk of the Peace for the said County, on the 3rd day of December, 1880, required the said Clerk of the Peace to add to the notice required by law to be given of the holding of the next Court of Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the said County, a notice in the form marked A, in the schedule to the Act of the 24th and 25th Vic., Chap. 61. intituled "An Act for the better manage- ment of the Highways in England," or as near thereto as circumstances admit, that at such Court of General Quarter Sessions a proposal would be made to the Justices then and there assembled to alter the Chepstow Highway District within the said County, by the Union of the Highway Parishes of Crick and Caerwent, both which said Highway Parishes are within the said District, and within and coterminous with the Poor Law parish of Caer- went. in the said County, and by constituting the said two Highway Parishes into one Highway Parish, to be known as the Caerwent Highway Parish, within the said District. And did also require the said Clerk of the Peace to send by post in prepaid letters the notices re- quired by Act of Parliament to the Churchwardens or Overseers of each and every parish mentioned in the said notice. And whereas at a Court of General Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the said County, held at the Sessions House in the Town of Usk, in and for the said County, on the 4th day of January, 1881, a proposal was submitted to the said Court by the said Justices, that the said Chepstow Highway District should be altered by the Union of the said Highway Parishes cf Crick and Caerwent, and by constituting the said two Highway Parishes into one Highway Parish, to be known as the Caerwent Highway Parish. And whereas the said Court have heard the said pro- posal and entertained the same, and have considered the premises, and it has been shown to the said Court that the notices aforesaid were duly sent to the Churchwardens and Overseers of each of the Parishes mentioned. Now therefore the said Court in pursuance of the powers vested in the Court, in and by the same Act, do by this provisional order direct that the said Chepstow Highway District shall be altered by the Union of the said Highway Parishes of Crick and Caerwent, and by constituting the said two Highway Parishes into one Highway Parish, to be known as the Caerwent Highway Parish. It is further ordered by the said Court that the number of Waywardens which the said Parish of Caerwent shall elect, shall be one. Lastly, it is ordered that the Confirmation of this provisional order by a final order, shall be taken into con- sideration by the Justices at the Court of General Quarter Sessions of the Perce, to be held at the Sessions House, in the Town of Usk aforesaid, in and for the said County, on the 5th day of April, 1881.
