A large number of Unskilled Soldiers will be available during the next ten days for training in horse ploughing in this County. The period of training is fourteen days. At the end of that time the men will be examined by an examiner appointed by the Committee, and if not found proficient a further week may be allowed. When the weather is not suitable for ploughing, farmers are at liberty to employ the man for other work. 2. Soldiers' wages for the period of training will be paid by the Executive Committee, out of which, if the soldier lives in, the farmer is to be paid for board and lodgings. 3. At the completion of the period of train- ing the soldier is to be paid at the usual rate, viz., 25s. a week, less 15s. a week if board and 25s. a wees, less 15s. a week if board and lodgings are provided. 4. A very limited number of skilled plough- men are offered. 5. Good Cowmen are generally available. 6. Soldiers may be engaged now for general farm work on the usual terms and placed on the Ploughing Scheme at a time later on suitable to the farmer. 7. The Labour Officer inspects men weekly at Carmarthen, and farmers are at liberty to accompany him there to select men for them- selves. 8. Forms of application may be obtained from .1 this Office. D.
