The Act provides in Section 1 (1) that it shall not be lawful to make a public appeal for money or articles in kind for any War Charity as defined by the Act, or to attempt to raise money by a bazaar, sale, entertainment or exhibition, or by any similar means for any such Charity unless (1) the Charity i<; regis- tered under the Act and (2) the Charity has approved of such appeal or attempt to raise money. Any contravention of this provision is an offence against the Act and ts punishable on summary conviction by a fine of not more than J&100 or imprison- ment with or without hard labour for not more than three months. 2. The Act does not apply (1) to any collection at divine service in a place of public worship or (2) to any Charity which may be exempted by the Registration Authority from the provisions of .Section 1 of the Act. 3. The Registration Authority is: (a) As respects a Municipal Borough or Urban District—The Council of the Borough or Urban District. (b) Elsewhere—The County Council. 4. Applications for registration or ex- exmption must be made to the Authority in whose area the administrative centre of the Charity is situate, and must be made in the forms prescribed by the Charity Commissioners, copies of which can be obtained from the Authority. Upon registration or exemption of a Charity a certificate of registration or exemption will be given to the Charity by the Author ty. 5. Under the Regulations when sheep are moved into this County from any of the adjoining counties, the occupier of the premises into which they are moved must forthwith give noiice of the arrival to an Inspector of the Local Authority and the Sheep must as soon as practicable after their arrival be dipped twice within an in- terval of not less than seven and not more than fourteen days between the two dippings, the dipping to take place in the presence of an Inspector, who has power to extend the time for dipping or exempt sheep from the dipping required by the Regulations, if he is satisfied that such extension or exemption is desirable. Sheep required to be dipped must not be moved from the place of destination with- out a Licence to be granted by an In- spector.
