THE constant complaints and numerous JL severe diseases caused by the use of Metals, Soft Compositidnt, and other Absorbing Agents, in the manufac- ture of Artificial Teeth and Plates, induces Mr. LEWIN MOSELT, Dentist (established Thirty Years), to call especial notice to a new, invaluable, and patented inven- tion, highly recommended by the leading members of the faculty, in London, Paris, and elsewhere. Of its numerous advantages explained in the specifications of patent, the following require particular attention. [2180 DR. DE JONGH'S ,i (Knight of the Order of Leopold of Belgium) LIGHT BROWN COD LIVER OIL, Prescribed by the most eminent Medical Men as the safest, speediest, and most effectual remedy for CONSUMPTION, CHRONIC BRONCHITIS, ASTHMA, COUGHS BHEOMATISM, GOUT, GENERAL DEBILITY, DISEASES. OF THE SKIN, RICKETS, INFANTILE WASTING, AND ALI SCROFULOUS AFFECTIONS. THE invariable purity, palatableness, ppeedy efficacy, and consequent economy of this unrivalled preparation, have obtained for it the general approval and unqualified confidence of the Medical Profession, and notwithstanding the active, and in too many instances, unscrupulous opposition of interested dealers, an unprece* dented amount of public patronage. The immeasurable therapeulio superiority of Dr. DE JONGH'S Cod Liver Oil over every other variety is incon- testably established by the recorded opinions of the most distinguished Physicians and Surgeons in all parts of the world. In numberless instances, where other kinds of Cod Liver Oil had been long and copiously administered with little or no benefit, Dr. DB JONGH'S Oil has produeed almost immediate relief, arrested disease, and restored health. SELECT MEDICAL OPINIONS:— Sir Henry Marsh, Bart, M.D., T.C.D. 1 hysician in Ordinary to the Queen, in Ireland; President of th College of Physicians in Ireland; Visiting Physician to Steevens Hospital; Consulting Physician to the City of Dublin, St. Vincent, and Rotunda Hospitals, dec. tltc. "I have frequently prescribed Dr. DE JONGH'S Light Brown Cod Liver Oil. I consider it to be a very pure Oil, not likely to create disgust, and a therapeutic agent of great value." A. B. He believes it to be preferable in many respects to Oils sold without the guarantee of sach an authority as De Jongb. Dr Granville has found that this particular kind prodncees the desired effect in a shorter time than others, and that it ,loe« not cause the nausea and indigestion too often ^»°nl oo .he P.1, Oil.. "Dr. Cowan it glad to find that the Profession has some reasonable guarantee for a genuine article. tit," The material now sold varies in almost every establish- ment where it is purchased, and a tendency to prefer a colourless and tasteless Oil, if not counteracted, will ultimately jeopardise the reputation of an unquestionably valuable addition to the Materia Medica. BRANCH OFFICES—MANCHESTER, BIRMINGHAM, BRIS- TOL, LEEDS, EDINBURGH, GLASGOW, AND DUBLIN. EXTRACTS FROM THE REPORT FOR THE YEAR 1860. The success of the Company, even in its earliest years, received the marked attention, and elicited the surprised comments, of writers best acquainted with the history of Insurance Companies. "Fire Premiums for 1860 EQUAL the Total Fire Premiums for the SEVEN YE ARS 1845 to 1851. Life Premiums for 1860 EXCEED the Entire Life Premiums for the EIGHT YEARS ending 1852. II Purchase of Annuities in 1860 LARGELY EXCEEDS the similar receipts for the first TEN YEARS, 1845 to 1854. This progress, it is believed, is unsurpassed, consider- ing that it applies to each of the three branches of the business." ——— The Parliamentary Report, exhibiting the INCREASE OF FIRE INSURANCE DUTY In the year 1860 over 1859, as shown by a return made to Parliament, and ordered by the House of Commons to be printed, 7th June, 1861, marks in a signal manner the progress of the Royal. Thus the following Table of the Increase of Duty paid to Government by the different Insurance Offices (London and Country), proves, on the authority of Public Docu- ments, that the ROYAL INSURANCE COMPANY is increasing its Fire Business far more rapidly than ANY OTHER Insurance Office in Great Britain and Ireland 2 26 Norwich Union £ £ 48 2 Phoenix 27 Yorkshire 732 3 Imperial 3290 28 Law Union 642 29 London 617 c SU?.n 1,'Ij 30 Westminster 616 r xrCOii.1SS I ™vincii1 2471 31 Northern 602 a ?r5,tlsh 2416 32 Royal Exchange 688 8 Midland Counties 2314 33 Birmingham 574 in caWL- UVT • 2019 34 AtUs 370 10 ^oottish Union 1989 35 National of Ireland 448 11 County. •• 1728 36 Church of England 407 12 Liverpool and London 1503 37 Nation^ of Ecotland.. 334 3 Manchester 1364 38 Patriotic. 325 4 General.. 1364 39 United Kingdom 217 5 Leeds and YOIkshire 1316 40 Sheffield 205 16 Globe. 1180 41 District 171 IB *• ••1169 42 Royal Farmers' 163 \r. The CHAIRMAN (Sir Archibald Hope, Bart) called at- tention to the unusually large-probably unexampled— lumber and amount of assurances offered to the Associa- ion during the past year, as well as the amount of annual premiums on the new assurance transactions, and to the sxtreme care that had been exercised in the admission of lives to the books. The policies also are free from some restrictions imposed by other offices, and confer unusual privileges as to foreign residence, non-forfeiture, &o. THE SCHEME OF UNCONDITIONAL ASSUR- ANCE, adopted by the Association, relieves the assured of nearly every restriction or condition. The policies of this scheme, therefore, have an extraordinary value and importance, and afford complete protection under almost an circumstances. The Policies of the Association under both schemes, therefore, present an unusual reliability and efficiency- qualities especially necessary in Life Assurances held as securities in connexion with debts, marriage settlements, &c.
