AT a MEETING of the "DEPUTY- LIEUTENANTS snd MAGISTRATES, held at the Town Hall, Uslc, on the 2n(1 of January instant, the Right Honourable LORD TREDEGAR in the Chair, the following resolutions were agreed to:- "1. That in order to encourage and extend tho forma- tion of Volunteer Corps within the County, a Central Committee be constituted, to eonsiat of Members of existing Corps, and other gentlemen to promote the movement." "2. That, subject to the sanction of the Lord- Lieutenant, each Corps be requested to select one of their Members, whether effective or honorary, to be associated with the Deputy-Lieutenants, in order to form such com. mittee. And that the committee have power to add to their number." 3. That the Deputy-Lieutenants and Magistrates ex- press their cordial thanks to the Lord-Lieutenant for the prompt invitation given to them by his circular of the 23rd. May, to form Volunteer Corps in the County, and beg td assure him of then cordial co-oneration." "4. That the Clerk to the Lieutenancy be directed to lay these Resolutions before the Lord-Lieutenant, for his sanction and approval." 5. LEAVE FOR XONGF YoTAGES—Special Leave for Voyages exceeding Six Months will be granted to ALL VOLUNTEERS on the following Conditions:— 1.—Tbe Leave is to be for one Ship, and for one Voyage only at a time, and to be renewed for each Voyage. The Ports or Countries at which the Ship is to touch must be all speciffed, or if any of these are not speci fied, the Voyage must be limited by the Articles to Twelve Months 2.—Tho Volunteer must have completed his Twenty-eight Days' Drill for the Year before the Leave will be given. 3.—On an Emergency the Reserve may be called out for Service at Home jir Abroad. If the Volunteer IS then abroad, he must, if summoned, join any of H.M. Ships abroad under the "same penalties, in case of refusal, as in case of refusal to join in the United Kingdom. 4.—The arrears of Retainer due will be paid on the Volunteer's return in the Ship for which Leave is given, 5.-The Admiralty reserve power to withhold this Leave if at any time on all Emergency the Volunteers are required for the defence of the Country.
