HEALTH FOR A SHILLING HOLLOWAY'S PILLS. EXTRAORDINARY CURE OF LOSS OF HEALTH, DISORDERED STOMACH, INDIGESTION, AND DE- TERMINATION OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD. Copy of a Letter from Mr. John Lloyd, of Erw-wen near Har lech, Merionethshire. To Professor HOLLOWAY, Sir,—I avail myself of the first opportunity of informing you, that for a very long period I was afflicted with a dangerous giddiness and frequent swimmings in the head, attended by loss of appetite, disordered stomach, and generally-impaired health. Every means have failed to give me any permament relitf, and at length it became so alarming that I was really afraid of going about without an attendant. In this melancholy condition I waited personally upon Mr Hughes, Chemist, Har. lech, for the purpose of consulting him as to what I had better do; he kindly recommended your Pills: I tried them without delay, and after taking them lor a short time, I am happy to bear testimony to their wonderful efficacy. I am now restored to perfect health, and enabled to resume my usual duties. You are at liberty to publish this letter in any way you may think proper. I am, Sir, your obedient servant, JuneGth, 1852. To the Proprietors of PARR'S LIFE PILLS. March 13, 1852. GENTLEMEN,—I have great pleasure in testifying to the decided approbation with which many hundreds, perhaps thou- sands, of my customers, continue to speak of Parr's Life Pills and, although I have sold tens of thousands of them, I have never heard of a single instance in which they have been otherwise than highly beneficial to the health of man, woman, or child, although I have sold them to persons of all classes and for all ages. I am, gentlemen, yours truly, J. NOBLE. Medicine Warehouse, Boston, Lincolnshire. From Mr. JOHN HEATON, Agent, Leeds. 7, Briggate, Leeds, Aug. 15, 1852. DEAR SIRS,—I some time since forwarded to you a Testimo- nial as to the efficacy of Parr's Life Pills in this neighbourhood. I am happy to be able to inform you that my opinion of their excellency continues unaltered and the unvarying testimony of my customers assures me that they are a great boon to the working classes, their use having in a great number of cases, which have come under my notice, been attended by the most beneficial results in the removal or abatement of the most dis- tressing maladies-in many instances amongst persons whose circumstances rendered it utterly impossible for them to avail themselves of medical treatment, and in many others where medical treatment had been resorted to without avail. It is always satisfactory to know that what one is the means of introducing or circulating, is likely to serve the desired pur- pose; and there is no medicine I sell with greater satisfaction or confidence, on account of their excellence and efficacy in all respects, than Parr's Life Pills. I am, dear sirs, yours faithfully, Messrs. Roberts & Co. JOHN HEATON. From Messrs. REINHARDT and SONS, Leeds. GENTLEMEN,—We send you a case of cure, and can vouch for its truth, having seen the party, who wishes itto be pub. lished, feeling truly grateful for the cure:—- Mrs. Ann Arundel, 9, Malt-street, Leylands, Leeds, after being confined of twins, 30 years ago, had a bad leg, which has continued almost without intermission, until a few months ago she has had the best medical rdvice her circumstances could command; but all proved unavailing; she was strongly recommended to try Parr's Life Pills, when, after taking three boxes, her leg healed up, and has continued sound ever since. Feeling truly grateful for such a cure, she is wishful to make it known, and will be glad to answer any inquiries. We are. gentlemen, yours very respectfully 76, Briggate, Leeds. REINHARDT and SONS, Chemists. iW These pills, by their wonderful efficacy as a safe and powerful medicine, have now deservedly attained the highest celebrity, and are being introduced into every family through- out the kingdom. The cases 01 decided cures, attested on the highest authority, and already published, occupy about 50 pages of letter-press. These testimonials are published peri- odically, and may be had on application at any respectable medicine vendors. The cures, 111 many instances, were effected after all other means had failed, and they, thus, establish the claims of Parr's Life Pills in being considered the best medi- cine in the world. RRN TUT? REVIEWS OF THE WORK. "Just the book every body ought to read once in their life, and the sooner the better, we say."—Pioneer. "The information therein conveyed is really essential to those of I eithersex who contemplate marriage."—Record. "It contains precisely the information too often studiously kept from the young and thoughtless. However, the knowledge must come sometime, and happy is the person who does not become its possessor too late."—Politician. The Author, as one of the few qualified men 1.1 this branch of the pro- fession, deems it a duty to caution the Public against useless imitations of his Work and Advertisements, by self-styled M.D.'s and Surgeons (chiefly Jew Quacks), whose assumed names-botli English and Foreign —self-imposed titles, and pretended translation of their works into various languages, are vile and disreputable impostures. Dr. De Roos having had long, careful, and practical observation of the treatment pursued in the various institutions of this country and the continent, with a 19 years' practice of almost unparalleled extent-has had perhaps unusual opportunities of witnessing the various stages of those dreadful complaints treated upon in the above work; this, with the assistance of medicines exclusively of his own preparation, enables him to treat them with the most certain and speedy results. From neglect or maltreatment, these diseases are too often followed by strain of 11 ental and physical debility that renders life a burden, and death a boon hence the necessity for sound practical judgment in such serious cases and the inference that the greatest amount of benefit may be most reasonably expected at the hands of those qualified members of th" medical profession, who have made this class of coinplajnts their particular study. To those only who possess the requisite qualifications can confidence be safely extended.. By DR. DE Roos' unfailing remedies, even the worst forms of disease and debility may be thoroughly eradicated. Mercury, cubebs, and paiba. which often produce worse results than the disease for which ehey are administered, form no component of his med cines. Nature's exhaustless store affords remedies infinitely more certain, and less noxious, than the dangerous weapons of antiquated pra, tice or modern innovation and the unfortunate who may have deemed himself beyond the reach of medicine, an outcast, doomed to sorrow, suffering, aDd early death, is made sensible of the powers of science, and becoaes again the happy possessor of health The culpable neglect of these diseases by the majority of mcdical men, it has been for many years the Author's tpurjiose to rectify; with vhat success his present extensive practice sufficiently demonstrates; and he undertakes the removal of even the worst cases without hindrance from business or change of diet; with secrecy, safety, and the most perfect certainty, or will return the money. PERSONS IS THE COUKTRV will be minute in the detail of their cases; and to prevent trouble, no letters from strangers will be replied to, unless they contain 1;1 by post office order, or otherwise, for advice and medicine, which will be sent to any part of the world, securely packed from observation or accident. Females, on all occasions, attended to with secrecy.and delicacy. Post Office Orders to be made payable at the Holborn Office, to DR. WALTER DE Roos, 35, Ely Place, Holborn Hill, London; where he may be consulted daily from eleven till one, and from five till eight, Sundays excepted. THE CONCENTRATED GUTTLE VIT^, OR VEGETABLE LIFE DROPS, are especially recommended to all persons debarred from matrimony by the consequences of early error. They effectually relieve those who have injured themselves by solitaly habits or excess, and brought on the dreadful disease known as Speruiatorrhsea (or Nocturnal Emissions), obstina'e discharges, impotency, barrenness, nervousness, weakness, langour, low spirits, aversion to society, study, or business, timidity, trembling and shaking of the hands and limbs, indigestion, flatulencv, shortness of breath, cough, asthma and consumptive habits, dimness of sight, dizziness, pimples, pains in the head, &c. FEMALE COMPLAINTS are under their immediate influence They also possess almost marvellous properties in purifying the blood from Venereal Contamination and Secondary Symptoms, as eruptions, blotche-, pimples, sore throat, threatened destruction of the nose, palate, See., pains in the bones andjoitits, scurvy, scrofula, and all other impurities. Price 4s.6d., I Is., and 33s. per bottle: the latter contains four lis. quantities, by which a great saving is effected. The £1) packages for the more obstinate cases, by which a saving of £ 1 12s. is effected, can only be had from the establishment. PAINS IN THE BACK, GRAVEL, LUMBAGO, RHEUMATISM, Gout. Diseases of the Bladder and Kidneys, Stricture, Gleet, &c. The COMPOUND RENAL PILLS, as their name, Renal (or the Kidneys) indicates, are a most safe and efficacious remedy for the above dangerous complaints, discharges of any kind, and diseases of the urinary organs generally, which., I if neglected, frequently result in stone in the bladder and a painful death. Possessing tonic properties, they agree with the most delicate stomach, strengthen the digestive organs, increase the appetite, apd improve the general health. They require neither confinement nor change of diet, and, as experience has amply proved, they will effect a cure when mercury, copaiba, cubebs, and all other dangerous medicines Of that elass, have failed. Twelve years ago," writes Mr. Blake, of Kiogscliffe, North- amptonshire, I became afflicted with rheumatic gout, and I procured the best advice possible, but without deriving benefit; and the doctors recommended me to go to the Stamford Infir- mary, where I continued twelve weeks, and left it without obtaining any b3nefit, and all my hope of relief had vanished. This hopeless slate of thines continued until a friend advised me to try Blair's Pills. I tben lost DO time in Sending to Mr. J Mortlock, of Stamford, for a box; and by the time I had taken that quantity I got rid of one crutch. Mr. John Gardiner, Advertiser Office, Wisbeacb, writes, A customer of mine, Mr. William Cooper, of Walsoken Road, Wisbeeach, informs me that he has been troubled with severe at- lacks of Gout for many years. During the last attack, a few weeks ago, he was recommended to try Blair's Gout Pills. At that time he states that he had not slept fur twenty four hours, and the pa n was like being racked with a hand saw. After taking fon of the pills he felt complete ease. He continued to take them ind has suffered no further from the disorder." Sold by all respectable Medicine Venders. Price 2s. 9d. per ox. Williams, Chemist, Church-street, Tredegar. Gentlemen,-A number of my friends have expenenced great benefit through taking L( c> ck's Wafers. Please to send me one dozen boxes by post, as some are waiting fur them. One friend named Amy Calarrore (subject to asthma), had a box last week, and has already received great benefit from them, although she did not take the whole, as she divided the box among some of her neighbours. Every one speaks highly of them, and they are taken by some of the first families in the town. Yours obedientlv. J. P. WILLIAMS. ANOTHER SURPRISING CURE OF ASTHMA. From Mr. Wm. Bawen, Cartleit, Haverfordwest. SIR,-Having been afflicted for many years with a violent cough and asthma, and having tried all other medicines in vain, I was recommended to try Dr. Locock's Wafers. I sent to you for a box, and, to my great astonishment, I found relief the very first night, and have continued to gtt better ever since. Their effects are really wonderful. My appetite is now gtod, whereas formerly I could scarcely keep any food on my stomach. I have myself since recommended them to several persons, who have all received the greatest relief from them. (Signed,) WM. BOWEN. ANOTHER CURE OF ASTHPtIADC COUGH OF LONG STANDING. City-road, Haverfordwest. SIR,-I am happy to inform you that 1 hrve experienced the greatest benefit from taking only two boxes of Dr. Locock's Pulmonic Wafers, which you were kind enough to reoomibend me. Previously to my taking them, I could scarcely walk with- out the greatest difficulty of breathing, and my cough would then increase to such a degree that I wzs nearly suffocated. I had not for many months slept for more than half an hour at a time; but I am now able to sleep all night without coughing. I can truly recommend them to those who are similarly afflicted, as a most invaluable remedy, and you are at perfect liberty to make my case public if you think proper. I am, &c., JOHN JOHNS, Cabinet-maker. IMPORTANT TO ALL WHO SING. From Mr. Edward Page, late Director of the Choir and Or- ganist of St. Marie's Catholic Church, Newport, Monmou h- shire. GBNTliEMEN,—Having frequently suffered much from relaxa- tion of the tbroat, I have often been obliged to resort to various preparations but since I have had the good fortune to try Dr. Locock's Pulmonic Wafers, I am now but seldom obliged to re- sort to them, for the extraordinary good effects they have pro. duced are most surprising. Even when the throat appears to be completely exhausted, and the voice to be nearly gone, two or three (at most four) will, in the short space of half an hour or so, completely restore its flexibility and power, and they do not act as a mere tem- porary exciting remedy, nor do they leave any lassitude after. Having felt the great value of the remedy, I feel it a duty to generally recommend it, as I am convinced that all persons will find immense benefit from the general and persevering use of it. EDWARD PAGE, 10, Stow Hill Newport. To Singers and Public Speakers they are invaluable, as in a few hoars they remove all hoarseness, and increase the power and flexibility of the voice. Illustrated by fifty coloured engravings, on the anotomy of the reproductive organs and their relative conditions ia health and disease BY SAMUEL LA MERT. M.D., 37, BEDFORD-SQUARE, LONDON. Doctor of Medicine, Matriculated Member ofthe University of, Edinburgh, Honorary Member of the London Hospital Me- dical Society, Licentiate of. Apothecaries' Hall, London, &c., &c. The essential object of this treatise is to point out the fearfu consequences resulting from Irregularities, and Excesses which have produced more misery in Youth, degradation in Manhood, and premature decay at all stages of life, than, perhaps any other class of disease known to modern pathologists. Its perusal is particularly recommended to persons entertaining secret doubts of their physical condition, and who are con- scious of having hazarded the health, happiness, and privileges to which every human being is entitled. The treatment adopted is founded on experience gained in the most celebrated r-chools of medicine, both in this country and in continental Europe, and the results of the knowledge thus acquired are bere con- densed under the personal supervision of the author, hincelf one of the few legally qualified physicians who have devoted their whole and undivided studies to this important branch of medical science. In short, every peculiarity relating to the treatment of the diseases incidental to the generative syrtem, and the means of immediate relief and ultimate care, are described in detail. The professional reputation o f Dr. La'Mert, who has taken the most distingBtshed medical and academic honours at home and abroad, is, in itself a sufficient guraatqB that those who may placithemselvesunderhiscate, will, iievul instance, meet with that delicate consideration and inviolable secresy which are so requisite in the treatment of these case*.
