LONDON MARKETS, &c. LONDON CORN EXCHANGE,MONDAY AFTERNOON, AUG. 18 Notwithstanding that the supply of English wheat on sale, in most of the country markets, held on Saturday, was but moderate, the demand for all kinds ruled heavy, and previous rates were not supported. In foreign wheat, barley, and malt, next to nothing was doing. The oat trade ruled firm, at extreme cuirencies. Beans, peas, Indian corn, and flour were offering at reduced quotations. Later advices from New York state that a good business was doing in the medium giades of flour for shipment to England on somewhat lower terms. In France, wheat has given way fully 2s per qr. The Baltic and Black Sea ports have ruled heavy for all articles, at depressed currencies. Very moderate supplies of English grain were received up to our market last week. Fresh up to this morning's market, coastwise and by land carriage, about one thousand quarters of new wheat came to hand from Essex and Kent, but chiefly from the former county. The quality of the whole of the samples was remarkably fine, and. we may add, fit for grinding without admixture with foreign or old English parcels. The trade throughout the day has ruled exceedingly heavy, at a decline of from Is to, in some instances, 2s per qr. For shipment from the East coast, scarcely a transaction took place. Notwithstanding the supply of foreign wheat—fresh as well as ex-granary—was but moderate, the demand for that article was excessively heavy, at almost nominal currencies but most kinds were offering a reduction of Is per qr. Grinding barley moved off slowly, at lull prices. Malt, the supply of which was tolerably good, was a dull sale, but not materially lower. The aggregate supply of oats being smaller than foi some weeks past, the oat trade was steady. We had a very dull sale for beans, and late rates were with difficulty supported. Most kinds of flour were 6d to Is per sack and barrel lower. Shillings per quarter. Old. New. MONDAY, Avo. 18. To-day's market was very heavily supplied with each kind of foreign stock, in which only a limited business was transacted at barely stationary prices. From our own grazing districts, the receipts of beasts fresh up this morning were seasonably large, and of full average quality. There was a large number of sheep in the market; neverthe- less, the mutton trade ruled tolerably firm, at about stationary prices. We had only a moderate inquiry for lambs, the supply of which was good, at last week's quotations. Calves were in limited request, yet late rales were well sup- ported in every instance. The pork trade was in a very depressed state, but we have no actual decline to notice in value. Per 81bs. to sink the oflal. s. d. s. d. s. d. s. d. Sir,-In acquainting you with the great benefit which I have experienced by taking Blair's Gout and Rheumatic Pills, 1 feel that I am but performing a duty to that portion of the public who may be similarly afflicted. About twenty yearn since I was first attacked by Rheumatic Gout in my hands and feet. I had previously been subjected to every variety of climate, having served in Canada in the 19th Dragoons, and in Spain, uoderSii John Moore,in the 18th Hussars. I always procured the best medical aid, hut without obtaining any esseutial relief, and my sufferings can be appreciated only by those who know something of this disease. It was during one of those paroxysms, between 12 and 13 years ago, that I was recommended to try Blair's Pills. I lost no time in procuring a box, and before I had taken that quantity, the pain had entirely ceased, and in a few days I was in perfect health. From that moment whenever I feel any symptoms of the disease approaching, I have instant recourse to this medicine which to me is so valuable that where it not that the days of magic haveceased, I should certainly attribute the relief 1 obtain to that cause. Moreover, I rejoice to say that my health has not in any degree suffered, but on the contrary I believe the ten- dency of Blair's Pills is towards its improvement. I have reoommended the Pills to many friends, and the result has always been of the most gratifying character. I am, Sir, yours respectfully, To Mr. Prout,229, Strand. GANNET FosTER GILL. This new mode of treatment was introduced and is practised only by DR. Hie following are specimens of those echoed from one pait of the United Kingdom to the other three hundred such were very recently published in one pam- phlet :— Isaac Bailey, 26, Regent-street, Oldfield road, S.ilford, suf- fered severely from indigestion for twelve months; and though under treatment by two medical men, he received no benefit. He procured one box of Kaye's W ofsdell's Pills,by taking which, a complete cure was effected. James Brearley, Peel-lane, Bejfwood, Was sorely afflicted with asthma, leading consumption hearing of Kaye's VVors- dell's Pills, he took two boxes, anci'bears testimony to the great benefit he has received from them. Mrs. Kershaw, wife of a woolcomber, Shibden, near Halifax, had been for a number of years afflicted with au abscess. Hav- ing derived no benefit from medical advice, she was induced to try Kaye's Worsdell's Pills. She found considerable relief witile using the first box and, by the Urae a second was taken, a cure was effected. I John Graham, living near Carlisle, was much troubled for a long time with stomach complaint, costiveness, and headache but has obtained great relief by using Kaye's Worsdell's Pilis 1 he daughter of Mr. John Martin, of Treivedneck, near Penzance, suffered for a considerable time from a disease of the Drain, which rendered her existence most distressing. The as- sistance of several professional gentlemen was secured, but with no avail. Her case was pronounced hopeless, and her recovery an lmpossibihty. In this stage of her affairs, she was induced to re- sort, to Kaye s Worsdell's Pills, and to the great surprise of herself and fnends, their use immediately begun to be attended with the most beneficial results, and terminated in her complete recovery. She and her father are ready to come forward at any time to confirm this statement. Mrs. Hall, of Eoswednan, in the neighbourhood of Pctizauce, states that, for several years she suffered most acutely from an internal complaint, which was pronounced to be incurable by the medical practitioners whom she consulted. Hearing of the wonderful properties of Kaye's Woisdell's Pills, she determined to give them a trial, and after taking three boxes, she loond, to her inexpressible delight, that her painful symptoms had for- saken her, and that she was once more blessed with health and happiness. i Daniel Goodman, 4, Snowden-street North, Liverpool, was dreadfully swollen with dropsy, and unahle to attend to his bu- siness Professional aid was tried without any relief A friend recommended Kaye's Worsdell's Pills to him, and by the time he had taken one box full, he was astonished to find lumseir quite well. He has since been able to attend to his employment With creat comfort. James Smith, of St. Gregory, Norwich, suffered for many years from violent pains in the body, and diseased liver. He experienced the most beneficial results from a continued use of Kaye's Worsdell's Pills. Krancis Dunning, farmer, of Snilesworth, was for many years afflicted with a sore leg. After trying many means of relief, in vain he was induced to make a trial of Kaye's Worsdell's Pills he soon became better, and in a short titne, by persevering >n the use of them, he vas able to follow his employment. Ann Williams, of Rutbin, was reduced to such weakness lv internal complaints, tbat she was obliged to he moved in and out of bed by others. GENTLEMEN,—Having frequently suffered much from relaxation of the throat 1 have often been obliged to resort to varJOUS preparatJOns j but since 1 have had the good fortune to try Dr. Locock's Pulmonic Wafers, I am now but seldom oblIged to resort to them, for the extraordinary good effects they have produced are IUost surprising. Even when the throat appears to be completely exhausted, and the voice to be nearly gone, two or three (at most four) will, in the short space of half an hour or so, completely restore its flexibility and power, and they do not act as a mere temporary exciting remedy, nor do they leave any lassitude after. Having felt the great value of the remedy, I feel it a duty to generally recommend it, as I am convinced that all persons will find immense benefit from the general and persevering use of it. EDWARD PAGE, 10, Stow Hill, Newport. To Singers and Public Speakers they are invaluable, as in a few hours they remove all horseness, and increase the power and flexibility of the voice. 1 hey have a pleasant taste. During the wholc of the time my suffer- ing hoy had icc hed the constant auviee of the most celebrated medical gentlemen at Cheltenham, besides being for several months at the General Hospital, where one of the surgeons said that he would amp ¡e tate the left arm, but that the blood was so impure, that if that lira\» were taken off it would be then even impossible to subdue the disease. In this desperate state J determined to give your pills and trial, and after two months perseverance in their use, the tumour gM. dually began to disappear, and the discharge from all the ulcers percep. tiblv decreased, and at the expiration of eight months they were per. fectly healed, and the boy thoroughly restored to the blessings of health. to the astonishment of a large orcle ot acquaintances, who could testify to the truth of tins °" -Three years have now elapsed without any recurrence of the malady, and the boy is now as healthy as heart can V", thcse circumstances I consider that I should be truly JF te make you acquainted with this wonderful cur y jour medicines after every other means had f'u1!pd.
