Hoping this may induce the incredulous to make a trial of the Pills, which will speedily convince them of their value, I am, Sir, yours truly, S. JOHN J. GILES. Pirbrigbt, April 23,184S. DEAR. Sm,—Upon your recommendation I sent for a box or Blair's Rheumatic Pills, and to my astonishment a few doses entirely removed the tormenting pains my wife had suffered so long, but having caught a severe cold the rheumatism again re- turned, when having recourse to a few more Pills, it again fled, and has not since returned. The public are not generally aware of the efficacy of this truly valuable medicine, or few would suffer from iheumatism. In consequence of witnessing the effects of the above medi- cine in my own family, I recommended Edward Bridger, now sixty-seven years of age, a labourer and jobbing gardener, to apply to you, he being much afflicted with rheumatism tor 20 years i he could scarcely get any sleep, being always worse when in bed, and unable to walk without the assistance of a u y0u gave him some Pills. AT present the popular opinion is, that tbe natural duration of life is 70 years, but this is contrary to both sacred and profane history. 1 his opinion is, no doubt, founded on a mis- understanding of the passage of the 90th Psalm. where it is indeed stated, that the days of our years are threescore years and ten, and if, by reason of strength, they be fourscoitf»*Myfs, yet is their strength labour and sorrow." Now, it most be re- membered, that this Psalm is ascribed to Moses, and thatthe is not speaking of the lives of men in general, but of what was occurring among the Israelites in the wilderness. They died not a natural death, but were cut off for their sin and unbelief by judicial dispensations. The clever Dr. Farre maintains that ]20 is the last grant of God to man, and quotes the sixih chapter of Genesis, and the third verse, where it is written, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty yeats," Now, we find this expressed intention on the part of God gradually carried into enect—the principal of vitality appearing to become weaker until the close of the era in which the postdiluvian patriarchs tlourished when although several centuries had elapsed since the deluge, we find the 120 years were about the average of human existence. Supposing then, that the theory of long life is well sustained, the question naturally is suggested, how are we to attain what is so desirable A wise general on the eve of batile make), a. proper disposition of his forces betorehand, and does not wait till the enemy has made an attack, and thus, by forethought and due preparation, reasonably expects a victory thus, he who has a desire to attain a healthy, and consequently, happy old age. does not indolently wait for the attack. ot the enemy, which is sickness, but is constantly on bis guard against his insidious approaches, by paying proper attention to the state of his health. Many would tain occasionally use medicine to asssi»t nature in her operations; but, like a mrriner at sea without his compass, knowing not where to steer, they first try this, and then that, and meet with nothing but disappointment; to those how welcome must be the impoftanttact. that PARK'S ME DICINE is all that is required, the fine tonic properties it con- tains invariably restores the stomach to a heulthy looking for food or, in other words, it produces a good appetite, so much envied, but so seldom enjoyed by the invalid; the genile stimu- lating powers it possesses assist the stomach to properly digest the food it receives the balsamic powers it bestows on the system pioduces that delightful feeling of good spirits so ver) desirable, and disposes both mind and body to healthy exercise everything under its influence soon wears a joyous aspect, ami the varied duties of life are performed with pleasure. It. in addition contains a fine sedative quality, and, instead of |onK and weary nights, gives sound and refreshing sleep, ff t|le stomach and bowels require it, it acts as the mililest and most agreeable purgative, and by its cleansing powers totally eradi cates a redundancy of bile, and completely removes all obstruc- tions of the intestinal canal. To have produced a medicine so benign and mild in its operation and effects, and yet so effectual in searching out and curing disease of however long standing, exhibits, on the part of Old Parr, deep research and a thorough knowledge of his subject. Those who have been tbe inslru- ments of restoring this long-lost secret to the world feel confi- dent, when they make the assertion, that none need despair, that if only a fair trial be given, the result will be a restoration to health and happiness. Thus sball their humble labours merit praise, And future Parrs be blessed with bonour'd days." The following letter received by one of the proprietois from the Rev. D. HARRISON, v% hitstable, near Canterbury, is a fur. ther proof of their efficacy in cases of Indigestion, Liver and Stomach Complaint, &c., &c. Wbitstable, Sept. 5, 1842. My Dear Friend,—I received the box of PARR s LIFE PILLS you so kindly sent me, for which I beg you to accept my best thanks. TbeV could not have oime more opportunely, as I was suffering considerably from indigestion at the time. I immedi- ately commenced taking the pills and found great benefit in a few days. I have taken them subsequently, with the same ef- fect, which induces me to believe that they ate an exceedingly beneficial remedy in indigestion. A friend of mine has found them of great utility in an obstinate liver complaint. If my re. commendation can be of any service you are at liberty to use it as you please.—1 am, my dear friend, yours, very truly, DAVID HARRISON. EXTRAORDINARY CURE OF RHEUMATISM. The following letter will be read with interest, as it contains a statementot another recent cure of Chronic Rheumatism, solely from the use of the popular medicine, PARR'S LIFE PILLS. It will be seen that Mr. Hugh Lewis, of Morpoeth Towyn, Merionethshire, North Wales, has tll enrol his name among the list cf testimonials of cures by Parr's Life Pills. The letter re- lating the case is from his brother Mr. Lewis Lewis, of the same place. Morpoeth Towyn, NorthWales, Merionethshire, July 4,1843 Gentlemen-I have much pleasure in stating to you the wooderful cure of my brother, by your efficacious medicine, as it must be nearly as gratifying to yourselves to hear of the im- mense good Parr's Life Pills are doing in Wales. My brother had been many yearsaffiicted with rheumatism, which frequently confined him to his bed, and the last attack was severe he could not move in bed, and the pain was most excruciating and, although he had been under the care of one of the best medical gentlemen in the county, and had administered to him various applications, both external and internal, without afford- ing him any benefit; as a last resource he was induced to tiy the effect of Parr's famous remedy, and now though he has only consumed one half of a 1 ls. packet, he is perfectly cured,-I am, gentlemen, yours gratefully, J LEWIS LEWIS. 0- This famous remedy has been established by undoubted proof, of its efficacy, and by a mass of evidence and testimonials from respectable persons, which HO other medicine evet yet called forih. Hence a host of spurious imitators, who reckless of character or consequences, sed" to injure its fair fame by vending DANGEKOUS SUBSTITUTES for the genuine medicine. To prevent a continuance of this injury to public health, lhe pro prietors spare neither means tior exertion in exposing the base conduct of such parties but some ot these reckless speculators still continue their injurious traffic and by so doing, destroy the remedial character of the genuine medicine. To preveni such serious wrong being continued, the proprietors of PARK'S LIFE PILLS tberefoie urge upon all purchasers of this singularly efficacious medicine, the necessity of strict attention being given to the following CAUTION. The words "PARR'S LIFE PILLS are engraved in the Government Stamp, in white letters OIL a red ground and at- tached to every box of the Genuine Medicine. The signature °f the Proprietors, T- ROBERTS and CO. is also primed on the direction wrapped round each box. Without this mark of authenticity they are spurious and an imposition. y Full directions are given with each box. Sold wholesale by Edwards, 67. St. Paul's; Barclay end Sons.
