MASTER AND MATRON WANTED, THE GUARDIANS of the above Union JL will, at their ordinary meeting to be held in the Board Room at the Union Workhouse, Aberystwyth, on Monday, the 18tli day of June, 1888, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, proceed to the election of a Master and Matron for the said Workhouse, subject to the approval of the Local Government Board. The appointment will be made in the first instance for 12 months only. The salaries will be, for the Master £ 40 per annum, for the Matron £ 20, together with rations, washing and apartments (unfurnished) in the Work- house. The Master must be able to keep correctly the books and accounts, and to perform all the duties pre- scribed by the Local Government Board and the Guardi- ans of the Union, and to manage and superintend the discipline and employment of the inmates of the Workhouse, and cultivation of the Garden and land attached thereto. The Master and Matron, or one of them, must be conversant with the Welsh language. The Matron must be able to manage all the domestic arrangements of the Workhouse. The Master will be required to give security in the sum of f 100. The persons appointed will have to enter upon the duties at such times as the Guardians shall appoint. Applications stating ages (persons over 45 years of age need not apply), present and previous employment and number of children and ages (if any) of applicants in the handwriting of the candidates, with three testi- monials of recent date, to be sent to me not later than the 16th day of June, 1888.
