SP B I IT O 1SSS.. FIRST SHOW OF THE SEASON'S FASHIONS. B. EVANS & COMPANY HAVE PLEASURE IN INVITING THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THE PUBLIC TO INSPECT THE GRAND COLLECTION OF HOME AND FOREIGN PRODUCTIONS THEY ARE NOW EXHIBITING IN ALL DEPARTMENTS. Many Novelties have been secured in Silk, Woollen, and Cotton Fabrics; also specialities in Costumes, Mantles, Tea Gowns, Children's Frocks, Ladies' Underclothing, PARISIAN MILLINERY & FLOWERS. Lace Goods, RibbonF, Gloves, Hosiery, Passementerie, Sunshades, &c. Temple-street, SWANSEA, March 26th, 1889. [3261 MONEY. MONEY. MONEY IMMEDIATELY ADVANCED from £ 3 to £ 1,000 to Professional Gentlemen, Tradesmen, Mechanics, aDd Householders generally upon Note of Hand, Furniture, Stock and other Security. Repayments to suit Borrowers' convenience. BILLS DISCOUNTED. BILLS DISCOUNTED. BILLS DISCOUNTED. In consequence of the extreme strictness *'of our local banks many tradesmen and others find it difficult to get heir bills discounted. We are prepared to discount bills which the banks refuse. Ascertain our terms, and if they do not suit you there will be no harm done. Many people go from ORe friend to another to borrow a few pounds, meet refusal after refusal, rather than go to a Money Lender; they hare a horror of the name. If they were only sure they would be dealt fairly with, they would willingly pay for a Loan. The Company guarantee that no unfair advtntage will be taken of borrowers, they can ascertain the terms, and decide whether to borrow or not. As a proof of how borrowers appreciate Mr. Usher's aystem of business, we may say that last year our business increased nearly fifty per cent. under Mr. Usher s manage- ment, and we, during the year, made advances exceeding £ 50,000. These facts speak for themselves. Such a business could not be done in a town the size of Swansea, unless the customers were treated with fairness and con- sideration. NO FEES REQUIRED. We do not mislead borrowers by offering to lend upon NOTE OF HAND AT 5 PER CENT. per annum such advertisements are but traps for unwary borrowers five per cent. would not pay office and adver- tising expenses. We candidly admit that we cannot lend at such rates. Apply to one of these five per cent. Adver- tisers, you will be asked to pay a FEE. It is on the FEES most of them live. You may pay the FEE, but never get the advance. Having a LARGE CAPITAL we make a special feature of advancing to TRADESMEN AND OTHERS ON NOTE OF HAND for short periods. We recognise the fact that it oft-times pays a man to borrow £ 50 for a week or two and pay £ 1 or so for the accommodation, to enable him to pay a bill and save his credit. Instances continually come under our notice where parties are being pressed by creditors and when an execution is in they have to pay the law and Sheriff's costs, which soon run up to £ 10 or £ 20. They then come to us, whereas had they sought our assistance at first, our charges for making the advance would probably not have been one-third of the law costs they have to pay, besides the saving in worry and disgrace. BANKRUPTS assisted in buying back their estates. Compositions secured at reasonable charges. Applications by letter promptly attended to. Business can be done by correspondence. The strictest privacy guaranteed in any transactions. Borrowers waited upon at their residences or elsewhere by appointments. Office open 9.0 a.m., to 9.0 p.m. NOTE THE ADDRESS WM.
