NOTICE is hereby given, that Application will be made to Parliament, in the next Session, for a Bill to alter, amend, and enlarge the powers and provisions of an Act of the forty-fourth year of the reign of his Majesty King George the Third, intituled, An Act for amending and enlarging the powers of two Acts passed for preserving the Harbour of Swansea, in the county of Glamorgan, and for further improving the same and to alter, vary, and increase the Tolls, Rates, and Duties, by the said Act authorised to be raised, levied, collected, and paid within the said Harbour and Port of Swansea, in the county of Glamor- gan; and that it is intended to apply for powers to enlarge, alter, deepen, and improve the said Port and Harbour, and the River of Tawe communicating therewith, within the parishes of Lansamlet, Langavelach, Swansea, and Saint John's-juxta-Swansea, in the said county of Glamorgan and to make a Navigable Cut or Canal from or near to Mr. Smith's Shipping-place at Foxhole, in the said parish of Lansamlet, through the hamlet of St. Thomas, in the parish of Swansea aforesaid, to Fabian's Bay, in the said ham- let; and to construct and maintain a Wet Dock or Docks, by stopping up the present course of the said River Tawe, for the reception of ships, barges, lighters, boats, and other vessels, to- gether with Inclined Planes, Railways, Waggon-ways, Quays, Slips, Piers, Jetties, or Wharfs, and all other works, conve- niences, and accommodations and also to impose certain Rates and Duties upon Ships, Barges, Lighters, Boats, or other vessels using the said intended Dock or Docks, Cut, or Canal; and also upon all Goods, Wares, or Merchandize imported or exported therein or therefrom; and that it is also intended to authorise the purchase and to discontinue the use of the present Ferry across the said River Tawe, at or near to the Ferry-house, on the Bur- rows, in the town of Swansea aforesaid and to make and con- struct Bridge or Bridges over, the said intended Wet Dock or Docks _at or near to the Corporation Public Quay and^Ballast Bank, in the said parish of Swansea and also at or near the Pot- tery Dock, in the parish of Saint John's aforesaid and also to make and construct a Bridge or Bridges over the intended Na- vigable Cut or Canal aforesaid, at or near the Red-llouse, in the hamlet of St. Thomas aforesaid and to take, demand, and receive Tolls for passing over the said Bridge or Bridges.
