In our ith page will be found a copious detail of the melancholy proceedings ot last week in Man- chester and some of the neighbouring towns, origi- nating in the dissemination of the detestable. principles of Hunt and his vile associates; and cal- culated only-to bring destruction upon the heads of the deluded victims who "lend a listening ear to the abc junnble doctrines contained in their speeches and addresses. The r I fie id and se- veral ef his companions are ni v s ti.ly lodged in confinement, and await, we are told, their final 'doom, in awful'appreh.ensioo, terror na$too long reigned in the disaffected districts; Justice must resume her sway, and promptly suppress those as- semblages of the ignorant and the seditious, which can produce-nothing but evil, and which cannot be permitted under any form of Government, nor, indeed, in any state of social existence. In this pas t ot the kingdom, happily, we are not likely to be assailed by the Demons of Sedition a.nd Tr@ tson. Sound principles every where prevail — !oya!ty is universal, and deeply seated in the breasts of the people, who view with horror and detestation the recent odious attempts of the Re forinists—and the labouring poor have full em- ployment. It is difficult to obtain the number of reapers, necessary to secure the plentiful harvest with which Almighty Providence: ha.th blessed us; and the staple trades of South Wales, Iron and Coals, are in the most flourishing condition. The Rev. Chades Philipps, Vicar of Pembroke, has been appointed a Surrogate for granting mar- riage licences and issuing probates of wilts. We are exceedingly sorry to state, that the shop of Mr. Edwards, mercer and draper, of Cardigan, was broken open last Saturday night, and stripped nearly of its whole contents by some robbers who j as yet remain undiscovered. A most daring act of burglary was on the night between W^edn#sday and Thursday se'nnight, com- mitted at tpe Castle-inn, Haverfordwest. The bar was broken into-, a tiesk forced and sonic sdver stolen therefrom a trunk, cm.taming various r articles of weiring apparel, and i<»i. i.i p'rovmrial ir.'tei, was 'V-o stolen. Pierce, f skinner, was made by four men in the streets ) of Ruthin, on Saturday week. He was returning; I from the Prince of Wales public-house, in company ttvith his wife, about eleven o'clock • the screams of I ae latter deterred rhe villains from their object, a.nd they escaped. His clothes were cut, and his bcifOiTi slightly wounded. A melancholy accident occurred on the road from Carnarvon on Tuesday. As W, P. Lewis, an industrious carman, of Bangor, was returning from the above town, being in a state of intoxica- non, he unfortunately fell on his head from the cart, and it is supposed ruptured a blood vessel of the brain, and survived only a few hours, leaving a widow and largetainily. An act equally intrepid and humane, and by which the tile of a fellow-creature was preserved, was on Friday se'nnight performed at Aberayron, in Cardiganshire, by two young gentlemen, visitors at that place. As several persons were 5taqding 1 on the Pier-head, they perceived a boy, who had swam out to some distance, suddenly stop, and struggle in the water, when the alarm was in- stantly spread that he was drowning; upon which Mr. John Lewis, of Llauayron, and his tnend Mr. James, with a feeling that did honour to human nature, and at the risk of' their own lives, plutiged into the sea, without waiting to undress; and, by their exertions, rescued the poor boy, who had sunk twice, and was just disappearing the third time, from a waiery grave. At St. flifarv Hill fair, yesterday, fat cattle were scatpe, but st -r^a, togethef with sheep and lambs, so hi well. T e shew of horses was but indifferent. Llandilo tatr, on Monday last, was but thinly supplied with cattle, which sold, however, at very high prices, more than double what animals of the satlle description produced two years ago.— Sbere uue but few horses, and scarcely any buyers. < kf Netfcas'le-Emtyn and Kilgerrau fairs, last !,il descriptions of cattle produced prices • h may be quoted as almost unprecedentally I high such is the avidity to purchase at -the present .ujiiuieut. Denbighshire Great Sessions commenced on Friday last at Ruilno. Two prisoners have been convicted of felony, and sentenced to six mwnlhs IMPRISONMENT. The Grand Jury ignored the bill against Mary Jones, chafed with the wilful murder of her child, but found the hill against Challenor, for murder, who was to be tried on Wednesday. V^hen they arrived at Pyle, nothing whatever was said to Mr. W ilker. nor had any insult, of any sort of kind, been offered to hi in; he could not, as a lawyer, attempt to justify the words; feut he trusted that the Jury would feel s he did, ifiat they were not with, any roaitciotts motive, nor to provoke a breach of the peace. Mr Justice Hoiroyd toid the Jury, that under whatever circumstances tiip words were spoken, if they were spoken with the nitent to provoke the prosecutor to, fight a duel, this information would be supported. The words were as nvsultiii'g as could be used by persons in the situation of life whscu the defendants filled, to a person in the situation of the prosecutor; and unless the Jury entertained a reason able doubt that the words were not meant to provoke a challenge, they would find a verdict against the defendants. lile Jury immediately found the defendants GUJLTT.
