AT a MEETING of the COMMITTEE appointed to manage the SUBSCRIPTION raised JHL for the Benefit of the WOIENDLD, and the Families or Relatives of such as were KILLED, in the ever- Eiemorable Action of the 1st of August, 1798, JOHN JULIUS ANGERSTEIN, Esq. in the Chair: 7 The Committee with pleasure report, that,through the exertions and information of the Commanders and Officers of the ships engaged m this action, and of the aid and assistance received from the Magistrates, Gentry, and Cler-v% of every part ot the United Kingdom, they have been enabled to afford relief and support to Eight Hundred and Twertty- cases, out of me Hundred and Twenty-one, officially returned as Killed and Wounded: and the Committee, being still desirous ot granting lelief to every person entitled to partake of the subscription, herewith subjoin a List of the Killed and Wounded not yet found out, and also le names of those who have not, by themselves or families, been paid in full. Resolved, Tnat the period for receiving Claims be confined to the 1st of January, 1806 and that, after that time, a General Meeting ot the Subscribers shalLbe called, to determine upon the disposal of the money then unclaimed. It having been suggested to C°mm ee* »iat during the late War a considerable Number of Seamen and Marines ■were raised in the Principality ot Waxes,.several of whom, it is highly probable, were engaged in the above action, the Committee have directed that the foregoing Report and Resolution, together with a List of Icilled and Wounded, be in- serted in the-Cambrian jSiewspaper, and translated into the Welsh Language, and generally circulated. The Committee having requested Captain Nw, of the Royal Navy, resident at Swansea, to receive tlie applications of proper Claimants within tne Principality, and to examine into the merits thereof, he desires that all such applications may be forwarded to him without delay and requests the assistance of the Gentry and Clergy in the several parishes in finding out individuals who may have been wounded in the action, or the nearest relatives of such as were killed, in order that they may partake of the subscription.
