JAMES's FEVER POWDER.. r|^HE very great efficacy of tliis Medicine in JL the Influenza of last year is too recent to be for- gotten; but it was most singular when taken on the first at- tack, for in those cases, where the Fever was allowed to gain ground and ravage the constitution, before the Powder was resorted to, the disorder became obstinate, protracted, and sometimes fatal. Upon all occasions this Medicine should be given at the commencement of a Fever,, of whateyer kind for if it he not sufficient of itself to effect a cure, it is the best preparative for the bark, and other remedies which the symptoms require but as the genuine Powder has been often known to restore the. patient, after its substitutes and every other febrifuge have failed, it ought even in the last extremity to be tried. Great benefits have been derived from the Powder, when taken every night as an alterative, in disorders thought beyond the reach" of Medicine; and from-a communication from the Rev, Mr. Singleton Harpur, of Dublin, there is reason to believe that it may be used in this manner with success in ,the Hydrocephalus, or Water 011 the Brain. IN the spring of 17.04 I was alilicie^l with a VENEREAL COMPLAINT, which I treated with indiAerenee tor live months but was then obliged to apply to a. regular physician, who put a temporary stop to tlie viru* lence ot the disease (by mercurial applications) for some time; but growing, in spite of all medicine and the advice of the first gentlemen of the faculty here, worse and wo:a for two years, 1" was reduced to a state almost unparalleled and beyond description, being an entire leper, and ulce- rated from head to foot. My head, throat, mouth., nose, iegs, arms, Ckc. have been alternately in danger of becom- ing useless; in short, I have had from twenty to thirty eat- ing ulcers on my body, and nearly totally deprived ol's/giit. It would be voluminous to particularize nil my ease—suific* it to say, there never was, or ever wiilbe, one of a more dangerous, or Of a more complicated nature. I was long looked upon by my friends, and imagined mvsclf, beyond all hopes of recovery; and indeed, m mv then condition, death was preferable to my more than miserable state. In this dreadful situation did I drag a most miserable existence, till Divine Providence threw m my way a newspaper con- taining the case of a Mr. B, of Plymouth—my friends read iI, I could not. I sent and procured some of your LEAK L's PA TEN T PILLS, which by using from time t» time, am now, and have long been (after mure than htur years indescribable distress) in as good a slate of health as ever I enjoyed as a proof of this, I had a hue, tisriviiv, healthy child, born to me a few months ago. In grantuae to God,, and in hopes of rendering my l'etimv-cr.eaFures ser- vice, I request you to publish this; and vou may at anv time refer persons who wish to be satisfied of the truth of this, or further particulars, tome or mv friends, by letter or person.
