THE very great efficacy ef this Medicine in the Influenza of last year is too recent to be for- gotten but it was most singular when taken on the first at- tack, for in those cases, where the fever was allowed to gain ground and ravage the constitution, before the Powder was resorted to, the disorder became obstinate, protracted, and sometimes fatal. Upon all occasions this Medicine should be given at the commencement of a Fever, of whatever kind; for if it be not sufficient of itself to ciiect a cure, it is the best preparative for the bark, and other remedies which the .symptoms require; but as the genuine Powdef has been often known to restore the patient, after substitutes and every other febrifuge have failed, it Ought eveh in the last extremity to be tried. Great benefits have been derived from the Powder, when taken every mjm as an alterative, in disorders thought beyond the reach' of Medicine; and coiiiinuiiic,at from a communication trom the Rev. Mr..Singleton Harpur, of Dublin, there isj-eason. to believe that it may be used in this manner with success in the Hydrocephalus, or-Water on the Brain.
