Sume say it is to be celebrate/ at Paris, others at Rlveims, and others at Lyons -Aix-Ia-ChapeIle was the place fixed when the last advjees Iptt Paris, and little doubt remains but the coronation will take'.place there. The coronation robes of Bonaparte have been embroidered at Lyons,,and with their diamonds are estimated at two millions of Jivr.es; gold and silver medals to the timount of ten millions ot iiVres, report says, arc already struck at the mint, and are to be distributed at the coronation day, in ad the armies, as well as among the people in all cities and towns. May this melancholy proof of the extreme dis- tress to which many of the Clergy of Wales are ex- posed, induce a union of the wise and liberal in the for, nation and support of a plan for rescuing so re- spectable and important a. class of society from in- digence. List year, a Welsh Sunday School was instituted in London; and although about 60,000 children and adults have been taught in the Sunday Schools in the Principality of Wales, since their commence- ment some years a^o, yet an increase of those ex- cellent Charities is become highly desirable. A distressing circumstance occurred at Carmar- then on Tuesday se'nnight: a daughter of Mr. Ot- ley, about three years old, playing in the kitchen, tell into a tub of boiling water that had been care- lessly left on the floor by the'servant, and was so dreadfully, scalded, that she expired in great agony the same night. Friday night, a Welchmian, and a stranger in the town, fell into George's Dock, Liverpool, and was drowned. He had, when found, about 25 guineas in his pocket. The Albicore, pierced for 19'guns, built at Mr. Hillhouse's dock, Bristol, was launched on Thurs- day morning. The Worcester and Birmingham canal bill has passed the House of Commons, and is now before the House af Lords. 'l'he following extraordinary instance of fecun- TO^y lias octuv ed in the neighbourhood of Hull: OK of twenty-four ewes belonging to Mr. John Rooinson, oj Wawne, twenty ot them have brought him three lambs each; and the remainder four each. What is more extraordinary, with the ex- ception of three that died in castrating,' the whole of this young stock are now alive, New potatoes of a remarkable size were last week gathered in the garden of Mr., John Graham, of Blackhall, near Carlisle. John Morris, convicted of horse-stealing at the last Carmarthen Sessions, and since respited, is ordered for execution to-morrow. Wednesday the body of a woman was found in' the river Lug, at Lug-bridge Mills, near Hereford. She was meanly dressed, in a man's coat, and ap- peared to be about forty years of age. Several C5 'marks of violence were discovered about her body, which left no doubt as to the cause of her death; and the Coroner's Inquest, which was held on Thursday, returned a verdict of-ililfitt against some 'person unk/wwn. From the length of time the body had lain in the water, the features could not be traced; but she is believed to have .been stranger in that neighbourhood. Monday eveiiing,as a gentleman was returning from Bristol to Keynsham, he observed, a few yards before him, two ill-looking men, in an attitude rea- dy to stop his horse. Upon which he called out, us if speaking to a friend, "come, Mr.——, we shall be late." The fellows made a spring at him, but his horse being spirited, rushed tnrough them, and he fortunately made his escape. He neard one of them say, damn it, never ruind, we will nab the other."—These are the same ruffians, no doubt, that attacked Colonel Gore, as mentioned in our last paper. Swansea fair, lastSaturday, was but indifferent- ly furnished with cattle; prime oxen rather ad- vanced in price, while lean beasts experienced a depression. Good horses were scarce and dear.— Some of the light fingered tribe, or l'ifle corps (accord- ing to their new appellation) were present, and to- lerably successful, as we hear of two or three pock- et-books, &c. having been lost. Some days since, a farmer having occasion for a small sum to make up his rent, drove a tew head cattle to a neighbouring tair tor sale, and impru- dently taking with him upwards of 80l. to which he intended adding the produce of the cattle in or- .der to discharge his landlord's demand, riiost un- fortunately had his pocket picked of the whole. At Ross fair, on Thursday, there was a good shew of cattle, which sold briskly, at advanced prices. There were but few horses or sheep, and the sale consequently dull. Best chqosc sold from 70s. to 78s. and second from 60s. to ,6&s. per cwt. .During the fair, a respectable farmer'near Ross, had his pocket picked ofc'his pocket-book, contain- ing bills to a considerable amount. At Bridgnorth annual meeting, last week, fat beasts (of which there was the finest shew ever seen in that town) sold from 7d: to 7{d. per lb. sink- ing the offal, and sheep about the same price.
