IN my notice which appeared in last week's Cambrian News I through inadvertence named Jenkin Davis of Lampeter as the Printer of my Election address instead of Jenkin Thomas of Tre- garon. CONTRACTS FOR PROVISIONS. rtIHE Guardiars of the Poor of the Aber- I ystwyth Union are ready to receive Tenders (accompanied by samples or patterns, where practic- able) for the supply of the following Articles and Materials to their Workhouse, from the 25th day of March, 1889 to the 29th day of September, 1889, viz —Stones from the Beach per ton, Freih Meat, Milk, Straw, Potatoes, Coals, Firewood, Coffins, Iron- mongery, Boots and Shoes, Linen and Woollen Drapery, Haberdashery, and Tailoring (making new Suits for Boys from the ages of 2 to 5, 5 to 9, and 9 to 16 years, and adults), Provisions and Grocery, Printing and Stationery, Printing Abstract of Accountu. It is competent for any person to tender for any of the Articles separately. The Contractors will be required to deliver the goods at the Workhouse, free of expense, in such quantities and sst such times as the said Guardians shall fequire by their written order. Forms upon which the tenders must be made can be obtained at my office. The tenders must be delivered at my office, seale d and properly endorsed, before One o'clock, p.m., on Saturday, the 16th inst., and the samples must be delivered at the Union Workhouse. All samples sent in by persons tendering and whose tenders are accepted, will be retained by the said Guardians, and no charge shall be made against the Guardians for such samples. APPOINTMENTS OF MASTER AND MATRON, RELIEVING OFFICER, INQUIRY OFFICER AND COLLECTOR OF THE GUARDIANS. THE GUARDIANS of this Union will at their next meeting to be held on the 20th instant proceed to the election of a Master and Matron for the Machynlleth Union Workhouse, and also of Relieving Officer, Inquiry Officer and Collector of the Guardians for the District of Machynlleth comprising the parishes of Machynlleth, Isygarreg and Uwchy- garreg. The candidates for the above offices must be fully competent to keep the books and accounts, and per- form all the duties of their respective offices as pre- scribed by the orders of the Local Government Board. The salaries to be payable are as follows Master, JE32, Matron, ;C18-with partly furnished apartments, fire, lights, washing, and the usual officers rations. Relieving Officer, £18, Inquiry Officer, 18s., and Collector 12 per cent. on the amount collected and paid to the Treasurer. The persons elected to the offices of master and matron must be man and wife. The person elected to the offices of Master, Reliev- ing Officer, and Collector will be required to enter into separate bonds with two approved separate sureties for the due performance of the offices, and to commence duties on the twenty-fifth instant, or such other later day as may be approved of by the Guardians. The Master and Matron will be required to give written undertakings that they accept office, subject to any alterations in their salaries which the Guar- dians, with the consent of the Local Government Board, may de-em requisite in the event of Towyri, Pennal and Scuborycoed, or any or either of those Parishes ceasing to form part of the Union and to use the Workhouse for their Indoor Poor. The appointments will be made subject to the General orders and also to the approval of the Local Government Board being obtained. Applications in the candidates own handwriting, stating their respective ages, family (if any dependent)' present and previous occupations, accompanied by testimonials of recent dates as to character and fitness for the offices, must be sent to me on or before the 19th instant.
