SIR ROBERT CUNLIFFE, BART. The MAYOR OF WREXHAM The VICAR OF WREXHAM Mr WILLIAM LOW Dr WILLIAMS Mr TREVOR PARKINS Mr JOHN JONES Musical Director. Mr JOHN THOMAS, Harpist to her Majesty the Queen.. Architect. Mr H. KENNEDY, Bangor. The Exhibition will be opened on the 15th of July, at Wrexham, in the present year, and remain open for three months. The object is one which must meet with the approval of all who are desirous of diffusing an intimate knowledge of art in orr manufacturing districts by the display of those choice examples which are cherished by their owners and have been handed down as heirlooms, or collected by those amateurs, who, from an innate love of art, have fortunately possessed the means of acquiring them. It is to gratify the middle and working classes who have not the facilities of inspecting the treasures preserved in the mansions of the noble and wealthy families of our country, that we desire to accord the privilege of studying them under one roof, and give the artisan an opportunity of cultivating and improving the intellectual faculties of the mind by obser- vation and comparison, and to arouse within him a sense of the refining and ennobling influence of art in all its branches, decorative, pictorial, or ornamental, thereby placing it in his power to apply artistic knowledge in every description of manufactured articles, in which good taste and appropriate ornamentation add materially to their value. Arrangements will be made for the display of paintings and drawings by the old masters, illustrating as far as prac- ticable the various schools of Italy, Germany, Spain, Holland, Belgium, England, France, &c water-colour drawings engravings, and etchings and the works of modern artists._ ° A gallery of Welsh Worthies will be a distinguishing feature of the Exhibition, consisting of portraits of noble and lllustrions persons born or resident in the Principality. The Museum of Ornamental Art and Antiquities will be classified as far as practicable into material and arranged under Epochs; in such a manner as to be of service to the Students of Archaeology and Art, and exhibiting the p culiarities and leading features of the various periods down to the end of the last centurv, viz.
