XADTES AND GENTLEMEN, I beg to offer you all (but more especially those that so kindly worked on my behalf) my sincere thanks for electing me as your Representative on our County Council; and to assure you that it shall be my constant endeavour, not only to do what I believe to be the best for the County, but to prove that in placing me at the head of the Poll, as you did, you made no mistake. Ladies and Gentlemen, I can assure you that I am deeply sensible of the honour you have done me in returning me as your member for the Machynlleth Division of the Mont- gomeryshire County Council. I sincerely thank you for having elected me; and it will be my constant care to prove myself worthy 5>f the very important trust you have reposed in me, by diligently watching over your interests, and by endeavouring in every way in my power to further the welfare and prosperity of this district, with which I have been so long and so intimately connected.
