It bas become now quite a universal thing for gas companies throughout the kingdom of introducing new articles to consumers for the morecenerat adoptiun of gas as au illuminant. heating, and motive power, with a view also thereby of increasing gas consumption and also the receipts of gas companies for larger dividends. It is also the duty of all gas companies to treat their consumers with the utmost respect and to gain their con- fidence. It in, therefore, surprising to find that SQch a rising town as Cardiff does not possess such a gas ..om. pany, as a few tacts given below will prove. James Stott aiid Co., makers of tbe world-renowned Stott" Gas Governor, are in the habit of attending gas exhibitions all over he country and were granted space by the Gas Stove Makers at the Gaa Exhibition now being held in Cardiff, but upon starting to fix stand. &c.. in Colonial- hall, are refused admittance by Gas Company, they stating as a reason for such proceedings that it was merely a Gas Stove Exhibition. This is not so, as other exhibitors .are showing who are in no way connected with the gas line. Why has such a refusal been madeF Because the Stott" reduces gas consumption, and is the gas consumer's silent friend. Having been prevented from exhibiting the "Cure for Heavy Gas Bills," we feel we are justified in adopting this course of exposing the system of such an arbitrary gas company. Such a case is without parallel in our history. Every other gas company -not only use our goverjsM1, but invite us to exhibit and recommend our governor, and at the same time the Cardiff Gas Light and Cobe Company are using our governor for their own consumption at Grangelown. This is not the first time the Cardiff Gas Light and Coke Company have tried to prevent sale of Stott" Governor, as evi- denced by report in local press of Aprii 21, 1891, under heading, Cardiff Lighting Committee-Obstruction. by the Gas Company, and we ask every consumer to examine the Stott" at 8, Windham-arcade. Over 600 governors now fitted in and around Cardiff. Upwards of 80,003 in use in the United Kingdom. Per pro. JAMES STOTT and Co., H. J. Aldridge. Manager, <S 8.
