THE Rev. Edward Williams, said to be the oldest Calvinistic Methodist minister in the world, died at Corwen on Monday night. He was born in 1811. IN this month's Cerddor a brief biographical sketch, with an excellent portrait, is given of Miss Norah Meredith, the rising Welsh London mezzo-soprano. Miss Meredith is Manchester born, but her father is a native of Llanarth, Cardiganshire, and a brother to the well-known oculist, Dr. Emrys Jones. A PRETTY little momento of the late Mrs. Justin Evans, wife of the Rev. W. Justin Evans, of London, has now been published. Mrs. Evans was a native of Milford Haven, and was a member of the congregation to which the Rev. Caleb Gwion ministered for years. Mr. Gwion was a nephew of Caleb Morris, one of the greatest preachers London knew at one time. He is described in the momento in question as "a kind of Christian Socrates, mov- ing about the little town, buttonholing people in the streets, coming into our houses and asking us questions which set us thinking."
