WELSH NONCONFORMISTS AND THE GOVERNMENT. On Tuesday, at the Quarterly Association of the Denbighshire and Flintshire Congregational Union at Tanyfron, near Wrexham, under the presidency of the Rev. T. E. Thomas (Coed- poeth), the following resolution was unanimously passed That this Association hails with satisfaction the prominence given in the Liberal programme to the immediate amendment of the Education Act, so as to remove the hardships which it imposes upon the Nonconformists; desires to express its gratification that the anomaly which exists in the connection between the State and the Established Church in the Prin- cipality is shortly to be removed, and that a Bill for the disestablishment and disendowment of the Church of England will be accorded a prominent place in the Liberal programme, and earnestly hopes that the Government will press forward such a measure at the first possible opportunity, for we regard this as a matter of the utmost importance, and one that would be most beneficial to the cause of religion, and ultimately to the Church itself." A resolution was also passed recording the hearty approval of the Union of the new Liberal Cabinet, and heartily congratulating Mr. Lloyd- George on his appointment as President of the Board of Trade, and Messrs. Herbert Lewis and R. M'Kenna on their acceptance of office in the Government.
