CYMANFA LLANDRINDOD ER DYFN= HAU BYWYD YSBRYDOL, Awst 7fed dros yr neg, 1905. AT Y BRODYR A'R CHWIORYDD YN NGHRIST DRWY DYWYSOGAETH CYMRU. ANWYL GYFEILLION,—Gyda chalonau orlawn o foliant diolchgar am yr arwyddion am lawer o fendith a gyfranwyd yn ddiweddar gan ein Tad Nefol drwy ei Ysbryd Sanctaidd ymhlith yr eglwysi a'r bobl, yr ydym yn eich serchog wahodd i'r drydedd Gymanfa er dyfnhau y bywyd ysbrydol, a gynhelir yn Llandrindod o Awst 7fed dros yr iieg, 1905. A gawn ni gwrdd unwaith eto mewn cynhad- ledd i ymgynghori A'n Duw ac a'n gilydd, i ddisgwyl wrth Dduw, yr Hwn a weithia i'r neb a ddisgwylia," ac i geisio yr ysbryd hwnnw o ildiad ac ufudd-dod a rydd le cynyddol i'r Ysbryd Glan yn ein calonau, fel y gallo Efe heb atalfa na rhwystr "weithio ynom weithredu o'i ewyllys da Ef ? Mae y tywalltiad diweddar o'r Ysbryd Glan ar y Dywysogaeth, gyda'r canlyniad o ddeffroad a chynnulliad miloedd o eneidiau gwerthfawr i Deyrnas ein Harglwydd lesu Grist, wedi cyffroi calon Eglwys Crist drwy'r byd. A chyda'r fath adfywiad ynghylch cadwedigaeth, oni allwn hefyd edrych am adfywiad ynghylch sancteidd- had, ac yn ffordd-lwybr y bywyd a'r rhodiad sanctaidd ? Amcan y Gymanfa yw gosod allan ar gynllun yr Ysgrythyr Lan y bywyd Ysbryd- lawn a'r nerth a'r ddarpariaeth i'w fyw allan gerbron Duw a'n cyd-ddynion. Dymunwn yn neillduol, os yr Arglwydd a'i myn, weinidogaethu i'r rhai sydd yn ieuanc yn y ffydd, ac a ddy- munant gyfarwyddyd a help ymarferol yn y bywyd Cristionogol, neu i'r rhai sydd mewn penbleth neu anhawsder gyda golwg ar risiau graddianol ffordd sancteiddrwydd, neu i'r rhai hyny a newynant ac a sychedant am y profiadau fyth uwch neu ddyfnach hynny yn y dirgelwch mawr-oedd guddiedig er oesoedd, ond yr awrhon a eglurwyd-" Crist ynoch chwi, gobaith y gogoniant" (Col. I., 26-27). Bydded i'r Ysbryd Glan Ei Hun, yr Hwn yn y dyddiau diweddaf hyn sydd wedi ymsymud ar gynulleidfaoedd cynulledig yn nghyfarfodydd y Diwygiad," alw allan Ei bobl, ac i ymsymud ar unigolion ac ar gynulleidfaoedd fel ag i ddwyn oddiamgylch yn y Gymanfa yn Llandrindod ganlyniad nerthol a bendigedig, yr hwn a duedda i ogoniant Duw ac a ymleda dros y tir, gan gyrhaedd hyd yn nod i eithafoedd y ddaear.- Yr eiddoch yn ffyddlawn yn Nghrist Iesu, ALBERT A. Gohebiaethau. [Nid ydym mewn un modd yn gyfrifol am syniadau ein gwahanol ohebwyr.] DO LONDONERS LOOK DOWN" ON THE WELSHMAN? To the Editor of THE LONDON WELSHMAN." SIR,-I have read the letter of Edrychydd" in which he raises the old question as to whether Londoners look down on the Welshman. "Edrychydd" begins with the statement that Lon- doners base their opinion of the Cymro upon the milk- man's barrow, and finishes by eulogising that "rustic." Now, I think it would be as well if" Edrychydd" had gone deeper into the subject and not dwelt so much upon the merits and demerits of the milkman's calling. What does "Edrychydd" consider an elevated calling "to be ? And why should the fact that a man is a chemist (is Edrychydd one ?), draper, or civil servant prove that he is polished ? Edrychydd" looks upon life from a very insignifi- cant hill, probably the hill of respectability. He is ashamed of the milkman and his barrow. A barrow is a' lowly utensil beside the refined scissors of the educated draper. Poor Edrychydd A chemist, let him know, is not polished because he has a smattering of Latin, nor is a draper refined because he sells silks and satins to a duchess. Nor is polish always so estimable a thing as Edrychydd would have us believe. Again, let Edrychydd know that the milk trade is quite as elevated as the drapery, and the employee in the former trade is certainly not a voluntary slave', bowing and scraping all day long and submitting to all kinds of petty tyrannies He is something more independent than that he is at least a man No, Edrychydd's explanation of the question will not hold good. The Londoner does not look down on the trade, the trade is a useful one. He does not look down on the "round "man, for it is. an honest occupa- tion. The employer is the man on whom Londoners look down. The milkman has tampered with milk to such an extent that a man of the importance of Canon Horsley was unchallenged when he referred to them disparagingly in a recent article in the Daily News. True there are employers of other trades who adopt questionable methods, but their trades are not monopolised by people of one nationality, and the fact that these methods are outside the province of the official inspector places the milkman at a disadvantage. However, this does not exonerate the milkman from responsibility for the dis- repute in which he is held. Nor does it excuse him for dishonouring his nationality. Meanness or dishonesty is no characteristic of the Welshman, nor even of most of the London milkmen. Milkmen must attach more importance to the security of moral rectitude and less to a display of sordid wealth. Finally, let us all remember that we are Welshmen, that we are at the commencement of a splendid era of national progress, and that outside of us is a watchful world ready to exaggerate any small fault. Besides, truth is a noble thing in itself!—Yours, etc., MOESOLWR.

DEATH OF MR. EVAN WATKIN, BIRMINGHAM. Many teachers and other friends of Mr. Evan Watkin, headmaster of Mary Street Council Schools, Birmingham, will be grieved to hear of his sudden death at his residence, 66, Varna Road, on Friday last. He was quite well on Monday, and attended a teachers' meeting on Monday evening. Next morning he was unable to attend to his school duties on account of pain in the chest. Nothing serious was antici- pated, but late on Friday night he became suddenly worse and died of heart failure. lIe was well known among a large circle of friends at Llwydcoed, Hirwain, Pontypridd, and Mer- thyr Tydfil, where he served as headmaster of public elementary schools. He was a Welshman to the core, and heartily supported every Welsh movement in Birmingham. As president of the Undeb y Brythoniaid and in other capacities he has rendered valuable service in support Of Welsh institutions, and the Welsh inhabitants of Birmingham mourn the loss of a typical Cymro. He was a prominent member of Carrs- Lane Church, and was held in high esteem by the late Dr. Dale and the present minister, Rev. J. H. Jowett.
