LIVERPOOL. Mr. T. E. Ellis, M.P., presided over the enthusiasts of Liverpool at a Dinner given in the Adelphi Hotel. It was a most successful gathering and addresses were delivered by Mr. Isaac Foulkes (Llyfrbryf), T. E. Ellis, M.P., Edward Evans, Rt. Hon. Walter Long, M,P., and others. Similar evidences of the spirit of Nationalism were shown at Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham, Chester, zn Swansea, Bristol, and all the principal towns of England and Wales.

THE ANCIENT BRITONS. The 181st Annual Dinner of the Loyal Society of Ancient Britons was held in the Holborn Restaurant on Monday, March 2nd, where a large gathering congregated under the presidency of Lord Mostyn. The Welsh Girls School at Ashford is under the control of this society and consequently the chairman's speech dwelt mainly upon the good work done at that excellent institution. A string band form the school gave selections of Welsh airs during the evening.

It is pretty clear that our Keltic composers are realizing the importance of appealing to a wider field of enterprise in the publication of their composi- tions for we find that John Henry's excellent song Guiding Light" is published by a firm in Berners Street, and Mr. Pughe Evans has his Lead kindly Light and "Return unto thy rest" published by Novello, also in Berners Street. The new Calvinistic Methodist Tune Book is being printed by Novello but will not be published by them. The Hymn Book is being printed in London also but not by the same firm. Mr. David Jenkins "Psalm of Life" which is not issued in Welsh at all has been printed outside Wales What has Cymru Fydd to say to all this?

Welsh was the language of the heart, and should always be treasured above all. Moreover our duty laid not merely in drinking the toast on an event of this kind, but in doing good towards our fellow men and for the advancement of Welsh institutions. Let the success of our noble Welsh merchants in London be our ambition, and let us always be on the look out to do good towards Wales, which as Welshmen we loved so dearly. This was the duty he main- tained of every Welshman present worthy of the name. The toast of our members of Parliament was given by Mr. Ivor Bowen of the South Wales circuit, and responded to by Mr. Ellis Jones Griffith, who rejoiced that there was no hostility to the English in these meetings, as he contended that the greater we are in with them, the better it will be for Wales. Our proudest heritage after all is the share in the Imperial affairs of our country. He hoped that those who represent Wales in Parliament will represent the nation at large and not a mere local division, and he rejoiced in the fact that in a recent division all the Tory members for Wales save one voted against their own side in favour of a Museum for the principality. Mr. D. H. Evans proposed the president in a neat little speech, and after Mr. Harries response the company dispersed, singing Hen wlad fy nhadau".
